"Avifors!"

The spell landed on the small statue of the bird, finally transfiguring it into a real-life one. I smiled, proud, as it flew into the sky and went in circles around the library. I glanced at Sirius and patted him on the shoulder. "See! I knew you could do it if you focused."

He smiled back at me as the bird landed on his shoulder, adorably nuzzling on Sirius's neck.

"This has to be a joke!" James claimed, hands falling pitifully on the desk. "How did he get it before I did?"

"Because," Remus started, whacking him on the back of the head, "he's actually listening to Lucilla. Unlike you, Prongs."

"Thanks, Remus," Luci said, a small blush forming on her pale face. I had noticed that she put extra effort into her look today. Her eye makeup was still dark as ever but it had hints of silver glitter in it, something she didn't normally do, and instead of having black lipstick on it was just a very dark red. Her long black hair was pulled into a vicious braid, free of any kind of imperfections. She also wore a black crop top, covered by a see-through lace shirt that had large poofs at the bottom of the sleeves, and a black skirt.

"Sorry, but I have to ask: do you guys all have nicknames for each other?" I asked, having picked up on the fact a couple of times.

Sirius nodded. "yeah. James is Prongs, Remus is Moony, and Pettigrew is Wormtail."

"What's yours?"

"Padfoot," he claimed proudly, his chest broadening a bit.

"Rather strange names," Luci stated, an eyebrow raised, "how'd you come up with those?"

The three boys exchanged looks, none of them knowing exactly what to say. James coughed, "just... Thought it sounded cool is all."

Luci and I exchanged looks in the full knowledge that they had just lied to us. I shrugged, giving up on the matter. Sirius glanced over at me before a lightbulb seemed to light upon his head. "We should give you nicknames."

"No," Luci shook her head, "it's your thing. I don't want--"

"No," Lupin said, a smile on his face, "I mean, we're all mates now, aren't we? No reason why we can't be familiar with each other."

"Are you sure? I mean, I'm a snake, remember?" I asked, eyes looking at James who seemed to recognize the phrase instantly, "we don't normally fit in with the lions."

"So?" Sirius shrugged, arm coming to rest on the top of the chair I was sitting on, "she's an eagle. Who says we can't be friends? Right, Prongs?"

James rolled his eyes. "Fine, fine. Do whatever you guys want."

"Alright then!" Remus clapped, excited. "What do you reckon they should be, Padfoot?"

"Hmm." Sirius tapped his chin, thinking deeply as he stared at Luci. "Well... Lucilla could be... Fangs?"

"Like a vampire?" Remus asked, leaning his head on his hand.

"Exactly!" Sirius agreed, excited that Remus seemed to be catching on to what he was saying. "Remember, like the prank we pulled?"

Luci laughed and nodded her head. "Sure. I'm okay with that." I couldn't help but laugh a bit too, knowing that Luci did have a little bit of vampire in her blood.

"Alright, and 'Lex will be..." Sirius stared at me, seemingly at a loss. I raised my eyebrow, waiting for an answer. "Well... I don't know," he mumbled, "anyone else got an idea?"

No one spoke.

Great. I don't have a single defining feature.

"Mara will probably have an idea," Luci suddenly said, her eyes lighting up, "let's ask her."
