"Alexa!"
I jumped in my seat as Sirius' and James' hands both came crashing down on the table in front of me. I watched as my cup of pumpkin juice spilt over my just finished essay, the ink immediately spreading and making the writing illegible. "You..." I looked at my paper in horror. "My paper..."
"Godric, no one cares about your bloody paper, Alexa!" James grabbed my paper, promptly tossing it over his shoulder. "Look--"
"You're writing me a new paper," I said coldly.
"That's fine. Now just--"
"I mean it," I grabbed both of their ties, yanking them towards me, "and it better be perfect or I'll kill you both."
"Kinky," Sirius joked.
I let go of both of them, the release of force sending them flying back. I sighed as I closed my book, now giving them both my full attention. "What is it then? It better be worth it."
"It is!" Sirius exclaimed excitedly, prodding James with his elbow. "Tell her Prongs."
"Alright, alright," James and Sirius both took a seat at the table, eyes alight with mischievousness. I wanted to laugh at the ridiculousness of it. It was almost like I was their boss and they were pitching a new project to me. "I've come up with the perfect idea to win Lily over."
"Oh yeah?" I raised an eyebrow, sending a glance to the redhead across the room.
She was in the library too, laughing as she talked with the ever shy Severus Snape. Lily tucked her flaming red hair behind her ear as she smiled at Snape, motioning towards a page in the book they were sharing. Anyone could recognize the pair: from Lily's bright hair to Snape's brooding aura, they stick out like a sore thumb. I, personally, thought they made a good pair of friends-- if anything, they promoted that Slytherins and Gryffindors can get along.
I'd never really talked to Lily before for a variety of reasons. Firstly, she's a Gryffindor. I never really went out of my way to introduce myself to lions often, after all, they always seem to hate us. Secondly, she's a mudblood- or, muggleborn as I should really say, and that being said I never found myself in the same social circles as her. Besides, she didn't seem to have any interest in anyone besides Severus.
The same goes for Severus too, though I have had a conversation or two with him. they were nothing special: ranging from talking about homework and a project but that's about it. Other than that, I've seen him around the common room a few times but he's not particularly nice, that one, though I can't help but blame James and Sirius for that.
"So what is it? You two going to apologize to Snape?"
The two exchanged shocked glances, staring back at me before erupting into a burst of explosive laughter. "Y-You think," Sirius struggled to say in between his laugh, "w-we would--"
He broke off, laughing harder than before at the mention of it. I rolled my eyes at them, hitting them on the head with my book. "Hey. Stop it. You two are being mean."
"Oh yeah?" Sirius grinned at me as he pulled his wand from his robe. "Watch this."
"Sirius don't--"
"Tarantallegra!"
I cringed as I watched the jinx landed on Snape, knowing exactly what was about to come. Snape slowly raised to his feet as he looked over at Lily in utter horror. He began to dance ridiculously in the library, gaining everyone's attention. Everyone began to laugh. No one offered help as Lily shot up from her seat, her green eyes finding us immediately. She glared at us before she took out her own wand and reversed the jinx, causing Snape to fall to his knees in exhaustion. I watched as she helped him off the floor, mumbling about how terribly mean what Sirius had done was. The two shot us another pair of glares before they left the library, their evening ruined by a mean prank.
