"Stop, Luca!" I grasped his shirt as he pushed me behind him but then I realized that there's no way I could stop him.
Not when he had that look in his eyes.
So this is why I felt apprehensive all day.
I held my chest as the frat guys were laughing at him altogether but Luca didn't carry the same expression. He was so daring and I didn't know if he had the right to be in this situation because there are three of them.
Then one guy pushed Luca back and he just snapped. I turned my eyes away when he swung a punch at them which looked painful and clutched my sweatshirt in my hand in dismay. I breathed heavily when I heard yells and started walking away further. I wanted to see if Luca was still breathing after the fight and that's why I didn't run away.
When I looked behind me two of them were already down and the last guy didn't have a chance to escape before Luca knocked him into the ground with another punch. I felt like throwing up now so I turned away.
I almost screamed my head off when two large hands landed on my shoulders and turned me around. I gasped when I saw Luca again. Not because of the blood running down his lip or his red, bloody knuckles but because of the devious smile which took place on his lips.
"You're crazy." I let out shakily and moved back till his hands dropped from my shoulders.
"Crazy people have the most fun, Floare. I could always give you a taste of it and you'll never go back to your innocent ways again." He said as he leaned on my face and I breathed deeply. I let go of my chest and crossed my arms.
"You know what? I was leaving anyway, you in?" He said as he started walking. I panicked in pure baffle and ran after him.
"No!" I yelled out when he completely ignored my existence. He wouldn't kidnap me, would he?
"Alright Cassia, your loss. But I'm going to take you without asking if you keep following me." He said and I stopped in my tracks.
"Why would I follow you?! My house is this way!" I said stopping and then kept walking till I was in front of him.
"Good one Floare, tell me your exact address next time to make it easier." I realized that I did just tell him the way to my house and he was annoyingly right.
What does he keep calling me? Floare? What is that?
I didn't speak to him again and just walked to my house. I stopped before going in so he'd walk past me and saw his smirk as he did.
Annoying jerk.
I ran up to my porch and made my way into the house before locking the door. My panicked expression came face to face with my mom's surprised one. "Is there anyone bothering you?" She asked sternly.
She didn't care about me getting bothered she just doesn't want to be the one to deal with it.
I shook my head and walked upstairs to my room. I dropped my bag and took my clothes off before getting changed. I rubbed my face as I sat down on my desk and tried to study but it was no use. This just feels like it's straight out of a movie.
I don't know how long I can deny that Luca is getting to me. He's drawing me to him and that's the last thing I want to happen.
I took out my phone and saw missed calls from Xavier. There's a bonfire tomorrow and I figured it would be a good idea to get my mind off everything. I said I'd be there and turned off my phone and went to bed.
•••
"Cassia!"I heard three loud bangs coming from my door before throwing the blanket over my head so it would block the sound.
You see, I treasure my sleep very much. I need at least six hours of sleep or else I'm not getting out of my bed without being dragged. I'm also the nicest person for no reason but if someone tries holding a conversation with me after I just wake up, I will snap at them and not feel bad at all.
That one time my mother tried to wake me up because of a breakfast invitation, I first locked my door and acted like I couldn't open it till dad found someone to break it. I got at least an hour more sleep from that with my earphones plugged in with soft music playing in the background.
"Get up! I'm driving you!" My sister sat on my bed and shook my shoulders harshly, making me bolt up and slap her hands off of me. "Still don't like being touched, noted." She muttered as I rubbed my eyes and reached for my phone.
"I just don't like being woken up before my alarm." I snapped and she smiled at me.
Kylie and I are not alike at all. We were half-siblings since her father was different than mine.
We were not alike physically or personality-wise. She has short blonde hair while my hair is golden brown and reached my chest. She also has brown eyes and mine are green. "I heard you're coming to the bonfire." I narrowed my eyes and stared up at her.
"First of all, how do you know? I only told Xavier." I said and she took a sharp breath before speaking for some reason.
"He told his friends and you know we have mutual friends with him. Anyway, I thought we could get ready together." She said and I bit my lip before nodding.
My parents will let me go out with Kylie and she also has a really good style unlike me. I just wear what I find and don't care if people like it on me. "Great then. Now get ready, I'll pick you an outfit." She said and I nodded.
She picked me an outfit that I would like since there's no way I'd wear the clothes she does on a daily. "I heard there's this new... Nerd. That hangs out around the twins. Have you spoken to them?" I wasn't popular like Layla and Chelsey but people knew me as the girl they always hang out with.
Xavier found me in the boy lockers one day because I was basically lost and that's actually how we met although he always hung out around Layla and Chelsey.
Xavier was not close to Chelsey or Layla before we started dating though.
They know everyone around the school and I was aware of how bad they wanted to be involved with the twins and Evan.
Kylie was blasting music as we reached the school and I'm pretty sure a headache was forming. "I'll pick you up after school." I nodded before getting out of the car as fast as possible. Kylie used to be popular when she went here and people still knew her.
When I reached the school I saw Chelsey leaning on a locker that wasn't hers and a guy was searching through his locker as she talked. "Cassia! Come meet Luca!" I narrowed my eyes and took a step back. My best friend gave me a death stare so I would walk next to them but I wanted to run away.
I knew I messed up when he closed his locker, leaned on it, and flashed me a large grin which made me stumble. I took a deep breath before I walked next to him. "Sorry. She's really shy and she doesn't really like meeting new people." Chelsey was telling him as I walked next to them.
"Nice to meet you," I said breathlessly and he bit his lip trying to contain himself. "Yeah, I've noticed. She's so... Innocent." Luca said and his second name happened to be Valeriu.
"She reminds me of you in that way. Now that I thought about it, you guys could be great friends!" She said excitedly as looked away and took a deep breath.
"Maybe we could hang out more, are you coming to the bonfire?" Chelsey asked him and I took a shaky breath before watching him carefully. Say no, Luca. I don't want him getting close with my friends.
"I'll be there if Cassia goes."
