warning: sad stuff in the first half
***The rain fell slightly harder today. Standing with her small amount of family and her two friends that were able to show. Upset wasn't exactly the feeling she felt in the moment as the rain glazed the casket as it lowered.
Fundy and George stood at her side, one with his head toward the ground. Fundy had his arm wrapped around Celaines small frame. Her father stood on the other side by himself. Celaine saw him crying but didn't say a word to the two boys that stood next to her.
The two boys..they didn't even know her father was standing a few feet away. All of their faces were covered by a simple mask. But Celaine knew he was there, she couldn't tell how hurt he was but she didn't know how hurt she was either.
Of course she knew this was coming, she knew since the phone call. Since the time she was diagnosed, it just never seem to get to her. Until she heard the priest that stood with them speak up, "would anyone like to say a few words? Now is the time to do so," she perched her head up.
Her eyes locked to her fathers as he began to talk, she felt a pain hollow in her chest as his voice cracked in between words.
"Mila, you were strong. The strongest there could've been. You took my only daughter and raised her as your own when I couldn't fill the shoes of a real man. I bettered myself for you and her, and you guys did an amazing job at raising her. Even if you aren't here I bet you got a cup of dutch brandy in your hand celebrating with her. May you rest in peace, you were the greatest mother in law i could've asked for."
Celaine felt a single tear fall from her eye, she looked around and noticed everyone in tears and that's when the truth set in. Looking up at the two who stood next of her their faces were filled with confusion and sorrow as they looked over at the broken man.
"I would like to say something," Celaine spoke up, her father looked at her as tears streamed down his face, only sharing a small smile before letting her begin.
"Oma. I don't know where i'd be without you, you were my rock, my person the only one i set out to be like when I was little, i hope you're proud of me, i hope you're proud of all of us."
She stopped when she felt her face get hot, her tears streamed faster than she had realized she took a step back, looked up at the sky and watch the rain pour, everyone lowered there head in silence before departing from the site.
Fundy took her in her embrace, he looked up to see her fathers mask lowered and a smile striped across his face, he shared the same smile and only held the girl as George stood in a state of shock.
***
It had been two weeks, george and fundy stayed at her place now to keep her in check. Social media wondered where she was and the only time she really showed up was for the election on the smp where she was exiled along with tommy and wilbur.
Other than that, she only talked to the two boys who sat in her house with her, but today was the day that george decided to part ways. He saw her doing better and a smile on her face more than ever. Constantly reminding fundy to make sure she's okay, make sure she's eating, and overall make sure she felt like she was safe.
Fundy nodded, and watched as Celaine and him said their goodbyes before leaving. Celaine felt like something was missing but knew her oma wouldn't have wanted her to mourn over her loss. Instead when George left, she looked over at fundy.
"Wanna go on a ride?" she spoke up, fundy only looked over at her with a small smile. "I would love to celaine," he grabbed his keys and took her hand leading her out the door.
