The Maze

"Alby, why am I here?" I asked him curious as to why he wanted me there.
"Because you're our only she-bean, and I need an opinion that's not from a boy." He told me, this made me feel important. "Ok we need to discuss the doors."
"(Y/N) had a dream on her first night, and she heard that it was a maze."
"Damnit Newt! I wanted to say that!" An annoyed expression was now on my face, Newt spotted it and smiled at me.
"Ok so that's what we call it, 'The Maze'."

Everyone agreed to not go into the maze for the first couple of days until we figure out the patter of the doors, 'cause if they open, they're bound to close as well right? We have also agreed that we will have try-outs to find out who is the best runners in the glade and then they will run it, mapping it, trying to find a way out.
"Oh uh- guys... I need to talk to you all... about something..." I looked at Newt as I had already explained to him what a period was, he just held back a giggle and nodded at me. I made a face at him and carried on. "So, I'm gonna need around one to three days off a month." This got the boys looking at me weirdly, confused as to why I would need this break.  I looked to Newt again hoping he would help me explain, but he just shrugged and smiled. "Oh you're no help are you Newt?" I told him.
"Nope" he replied popping the 'p'.

"Ok just put it like this," I carried on explaining, "every month, I get stomach cramps, headaches and my... hm-hm" I cleared my throat, "boobs...hurt..." I whispered awkwardly, "all the damn time during the three days. But usually it goes on for seven days, but the three in the middle are the worst." The boys stared at me. Silence.
"I say she gets as long as she wants off!" Minho stated. Most of the boys agreed, Gally however, was still looking confused.
"Can you explain that once more, slower..." he said still trying to process the new information.
"NO! No way am I doing that again!" I shouted. "Ask Newt, he's heard it twice now."

Before Newt could say anything Alby said "it's agreed, (Y/N) gets at most a week off a month. No questions asked." The boys all nodded
"Thank you guys." I said smiling at them all. "So when should we host the trials of the people who will run?"
"How about tomorrow?" Minho piped up.
"Yeah!" Everyone said in turn.
"Ok so it's settled, (Y/N) gets at most a week off every month, and we hold trials for people to run, and then we send them in once we know the patterns, dangers and safeties of the maze." Alby concluded the meeting.

"Hey (Y/N)! I think you should tell everyone about the trials!" Newt told me
"I... yeah, why not? I'll ask Alby if I can do it!" I called over to Alby, "hey can I tell the boys about the trails for the... runners! We should call the people who run the maze, runners!"
"Great idea (Y/N)! And yes you can tell everyone our plan."
I nodded then jumped onto a crate. "Listen up shanks! Tomorrow we will be holding trials for people to be runners." By now everyone had gathered around to hear what I had to say. "We will see who the fastest, and strongest minded are out of all of us! Then when we are sure that the maze is relatively safe, we will send the runners out to map it and look for a way out!" Everyone looked excited, eager to show how strong and fast they are.
