Chapter 11: Butterflies

~Marinette~
"Let's go check out our room!" Alya says as she grabs my arm and pulls me into the hotel. "We'll catch up with you guys later!" I shout out to Adrien and Nino.

We get to our room. "Woah. It's-" "Beautiful" Alya says finishing my sentence. We run separate ways taking in the big room.

The bedroom has a window that overlooks the city. It also has a couch by the bed along with a table and a few chairs. The tv in the room is huge and attached to the wall in front of the bed.

Then there's another room that has another couch, desk, windows that overlook the city, and kitchen.

"This room is huge!" Alya says as we walk around the room taking in every detail. There's a knock on the door making us stop. I walk over to answer it and see Adrien and Nino.

"The rooms are huge!" Nino says as he walks into our room. "Mari! You have to see our room!" Adrien says as he grabs my arm. "But it's the same as-" Nino starts but stops when he sees Adrien dragging me away.

He pulls me into his room. "Agreste? What the hell?!" "Why didn't you tell me?" "Tell you what?" "That you don't want to die?" "Obviously I don't want to die you idiot!" I say and slap the back of his head. "Well why didn't you tell me you're scared?" He asks as he rubs his head. "Adrien don't start this again. Let's just enjoy this trip."

"But Mari-" "Please Agreste?" He sighs. "Fine." "Thank you." I say and pull him into a hug. He holds my head as he hugs me back. I feel butterflies start to form in my stomach. His hugs are so comforting. I love them. I love- No! No! No! No! Mari you don't love him! Well I do but not that way! Don't you dare start feeling anything for him!

"I want to see the Statue of Liberty." Alya says. "Me too." I say. "Well shouldn't we get something to eat first?" "I'm not really that hungry." I say causing Adrien to roll his eyes. "Well you need to eat something Mari." "But-" "No buts. We're going to get pizza and you're going to eat it. So what kind of pizza do you want?" "Pepperoni." I say as I glare at him. He nods and walks off with Nino.

"So anything new with you and Adrien?" Alya asks. "Nope." "Why did he drag you away?" "He wanted to show me his room. He thought it was different than ours but it's exactly the same." She nods. "I thought you guys were secretly dating or something." "Alya! For the last time we're-" "Just friends." She says rolling her eyes. "I wish you guys would consider being more though. You guys would be good together." I can't. "I don't see him that way."

"Agreste open up!" I say as I bang on the door to his room. "What?" "You owe me 10 bucks." He laughs. "They're making out in your room?" I shove his shoulder. "Don't laugh! It was so awkward. I had to get out of there as fast as I could." He starts laughing more and let's me inside.

I walk over to his bed and lay down. "Don't get to comfortable. Nino will be back later." "Yeah I highly doubt that." He laughs as he grabs a snack and lays beside me. "Want some?" he asks as he holds the bowl of chips up to me. I shake my head. He rolls his eyes and turns on the tv.

"You're going to regret not eating any. They're really good." He holds a chip under my nose. "It even smells good." He says before putting the chip in his mouth. He puts another chip under my nose. "Stop." I laugh while pushing his hand away. He knows it's annoying me so he does it over and over.

I grab the bowl of chips and dump it on his head. "Oh look it even makes a good hat." "You're going to regret that Mari." I jump off the bed. "You're going to have to catch me first." I say as I run away. He runs into the kitchen and gets a water bottle. He starts chasing me around the room with it until he finally catches me.

"I'm sorry! Don't do it please!" I say trying to get out of his grasp. He laughs. "Too late." He says as he dumps the water on my head.

I smirk at him and run into his kitchen and grab more snacks. "Don't you dare Mari!" He says. I smile and start throwing the food at him. "Mari!" I laugh as I continue to throw stuff at him.

He runs toward me and tackles me. "Agreste get off! You weigh a ton." I say trying to push him off. "Not until you apologize." He says as he stays laying on top of me. "Not happening." He smiles and pushes a strand of hair behind my ear. He leans toward me and whispers. "Then I'm not getting off." "Adrien!" "Marinette!" He says mocking me.

As he laughs his eyes meet mine. The butterflies take place in my stomach once again. I feel my cheeks begin to heat up. Marinette don't blush! You don't feel anything for him! Ughh but if I don't feel anything why do I want him to kiss me? What am I thinking? Don't kiss him! Don't kiss him! Don't kiss him! He's just a friend!

~Adrien~
As I look into Mari's eyes I see a faint shade of pink appear on her cheeks. Has she always been this beautiful? I feel my cheeks heat up. I have this weird urge to kiss her right now but I can't . We're just friends. Nothing can ever happen between us. Wait- Why not?

"Agreste?" She says making me shake out of my thoughts. I hum in response as I continue to admire all her beautiful features. "Get off." She says with a smile as she shifts trying to push me off. Her smile is so beautiful. Screw it I'm going for it. I smirk and lean towards her. Our lips are only a few inches apart.

"Okay you can have your room back now." Nino says as he walks in the room. Marinette and I quickly separate and get up from the floor.

Nino looks at us and smirks. "What's going on here?"He asks with his eyes shifting from me to Marinette. "Nothing! I should get back to my room now." She says as she scratches the back of her neck. "After I clean up." She says as she bends down to pick up the mess. "Don't worry Nino and I got it." I say as I lean down and grab her hand to stop her. I let go quickly when we both start blushing.

"I never signed up to clean!" "Yeah but you made her leave her room so it's the least you can do." She laughs. "Okay well I'll see you guys tomorrow." She says as she walks out of the room. What just happened?

What would've happened if Nino never came in? Oh my gosh! Marinette you almost kissed him! No no no!!! I don't want him to get hurt!
