Chapter 24: We're Dating

"I told my mom what happened with your parents and she said you can stay here as long as you like." "Is she sure? I don't want to-" "You're not imposing or overstaying your welcome." Emilie says as she brings some clothes into the room. "It will be like a breath of fresh air if I had another girl living here."

"Are you sure?" She smiles and nods. "Imagine how fun it will be! We can paint each other's nails, do each other's hair, we can even watch sad movies and cry together." She says excitedly. I giggle. "Thank you Emilie." "Of course Marinette." She says and leaves the room.

I nervously play with my hands. "My family loves you Mari they don't mind having you stay here." Adrien says and takes my hand. "I know but-" "You heard my mom. She's excited to get to be able to spend more time with you." I smile. "You're right. I'm excited too. Thank you Agreste." I place a kiss on his lips. He pulls me closer and deepens the kiss.

"I love you." I say with a smile as we pull apart. His smile grows wider. "I love you too. But we have school so if we go to sleep now we can still get 2 hours of sleep before school." He gives me a quick kiss and walks out of the room.

"Mari wake up." Adrien says as he pushes a strand of hair out of my face. "5 more minutes." I say and roll over. "I gave you 10 more minutes. It's time to get up." I cover my ears with the pillow. "If you don't wake up right now I'll have to tickle you." I open my eyes and sit up quick. "I'm awake!"

He chuckles and leans in for a kiss. I place my finger on his lips stopping him. "Morning breath. Let me brush my teeth first." "I don't care." "Well I do." I say as I get out of the bed. "I'll be waiting for you downstairs when you're ready to go." He says as he walks out of the room.

I finish getting ready and Adrien and I walk to school hand in hand. "How are you not tired?" "I'm a model Mari, I stay up late all the time for photo shoots. I'm used to it already." "Yeah yeah whatever." I say and yawn.

"Hurry up!" I say as I pull him to walk faster. "I thought you were tired." "I am but we're passing by my parents' bakery and I don't want them to see me." "You don't want to talk to them at all?" "Not right now. I'm still upset with them." He nods.

I let go of his hand to put my hair in a ponytail as we walk up the steps. "Dupain-Cheng! I need you and Alya!" Chloe says and grabs my arm. "I'll see you later I guess!" I shout to Adrien as she pulls me away.

"What happened?" "There she is!" She runs up to Alya completely ignoring my question and grabs her too. "What's going on?" Alya asks. "Luka just asked me out." "Oh my gosh that's amazing Chloe." I say excitedly. "No it's not because I don't know how to act on a date. I've never been on one before." "Just be yourself." "Yeah and if you want you can come over to my house for date prep?" Alya asks. She smiles and nods. "I'm nervous. I thought my first date would be a triple date with you guys so I won't be as nervous." "You'll be fine Chloe."

Lunch
"We only have 3 things left to do on your list. What's next?" Adrien asks as we sit down. "I'm working on clothes for the fashion show, but there's a little problem with my designs." "I'm sure that's not true. Everything you design is amazing Mari." "That's not the problem. The problem is they're all at my house."

"What's wrong with them being at your house?" Luka asks. "Oh it's nothing. I just got into a fight with my parents so I'm not staying there at the moment." "And you didn't call me girl? Where are you staying? If you need a place to stay you can stay with me." Alya says. "Me too. My dad owns a hotel so you can get your own room." Chloe adds. "No it's fine. Thank you though." "Well where are you staying dude?" Nino asks. "Adrien's."

They all look at each other and smile. "What? Why are you smiling?" I ask. "Oh nothing." "Just that a girl gets into a fight with her parents and runs away to the one person who can make her feel better." Alya says. "So romantic." Chloe says. "Just get together already." Nino adds. "It's taking you guys way too long." Luka adds.

Adrien leans over and whispers to me. "You didn't tell them?" "I forgot. Why didn't you tell them?" "Because I thought you told them." "What are you whispering about?" Alya asks. "Um well Agreste and I kind of- um- how do I say it?" Adrien chuckles."We're dating."

"Oh my gosh! Since when?" "Last night." "And you didn't tell me?" Alya asks and throws her breadstick at me. "Ow! I forgot!" "How do you forget something this big?" She grabs Nino's breadstick and throws it at me. "Hey! I was going to eat that." "Now that I got that out of me, this is amazing! I'm so happy for you guys." "Thank you Alya." "Meet me at my house after school. I want all the details." She says as the bell rings.

"Wait- I can't." I say as she walks away. She turns around. "Why not?"  "Um- I-" "We have a date." "Oh ok well do you have any plans tomorrow?" I shake my head. "Meet me at my house tomorrow then. You come too Chloe."

"Thank you for helping me cover up." I say as we walk into the hospital. "Anytime Mari." "Hey guys." Plagg and Tikki say as they walk over to us. "Hi." We say back.

They lead us to the room. "Has anything new happened?" I shake my head and she writes down on my chart. "Okay we just have to run the usual tests and then you'll be on your way." Tikki says as she gestures for Plagg to walk me over. "I'll be back Agreste." "I'll be waiting here." He says with a smile. I give him a quick kiss and walk out of the room.

Tikki and Plagg widen their eyes. "Wait Marinette!You can't just leave us confused!" Plagg calls after me. I laugh and walk back into the room. "What?" "Did you forget to tell us something?" Tikki asks. "Shoot! How do we keep forgetting to tell people." Adrien says as he face palms himself. I giggle at his action. "Agreste and I are dating."

"Oh my god this is amazing! I told you they'd get together before her birthday! You owe me 10 bucks." Tikki says and holds out a hand in front of Plagg. He rolls his eyes and reaches into his pocket. He pulls out a $10 bill and places it in her hands. "You couldn't have waited a month?" Adrien and I laugh.

"So what about you two? Anything happen yet?" Plagg and Tikki's cheeks turn red and they smiles. "Well we just recently started dating too." " I squeal. "I totally called it! I knew you had feelings for eachother." "We can say the exact same thing about you." Plagg says.

"I can't believe they still didn't show up. Even after I told them that I need them here with me." I say as we walk back to Adrien's house. "They'll come around Mari just give it some time." He says putting an arm around me. "But I shouldn't have to wait around for them. I don't think I even want them to go to my check ups with me anymore." "Why not?" "If they go it won't be because they want to go. It'll just be because I told them to." "Mari-" "Actually let's talk about something else."

"Okay. So what do you want to do for your birthday?" He asks with a smile. "I just want to be as far away from you as possible." I joke. He stops walking and pulls me closer to him. "Really? Cause I don't think that's true." He says with our faces inches apart. I feel his breath brush against my face. "I- I-" "You- You?" He teases.

I regain my composure and hit his arm. He chuckles. "I was joking." He says. "So was I but now I'm not so sure. Being far away from you sounds exactly like what I need." I say and start walking away from him. "Mari!" He says walking after me. I giggle. "I'm kidding Agreste." I give him a quick kiss. "We both know you can't last a second without me." I say. He rolls his eyes. "Whatever." He takes my hand and we continue to walk to his house.
