chapter 12

Chapter 12 Alex POV

It was Saturday, two weeks from the start of school. I had work from 7:00-4:00 (it's different on Saturdays) what to do after that? I have no girlfriends to hang out with. I thought about this while at my lunch break. Surprisingly, my friend and guard girl Destiny called me.
"Hey what's up girl?"
"The sky. Do you wanna hang out today?"
"Sure, my shift ends at 4:00.”
"Cool do you have a car with you?" "No my mom has a car today."
"Okay I'll pick you up. See you then."

She came at 4 on the dot.
"I forgot to ask earlier but what are we doing?"
"What else. We are going to the mall. You don't have to buy anything if you don't want to."
"Great! I'm actually needing the new pair of tennis shoes so can we stop by the Nike shop?”
"Of course. But I think that punk shoes are more your style."
I shrugged my shoulders. "Why not. Do you know of any good stores?"
The rest of the shopping trip was good. She brought me to the skateboarding shop at the mall and got me punk shoes. Surprisingly, I actually really like the punk/skateboarding shoes. They're really comfy. Of course we had to go to all her favorite dress shops too. It was really fun watching her flirt with all the guys in the halls. She reminded a lot of Shalin. After we basically went to every shop in the mall she called it quits, and we went to the only place we hadn't been yet. The food court.
"So Destiny don't get me wrong, I have a lot of fun but why me."
"Well I heard about your break up with Colton and how your best friend cheated with him and the same thing happened to me and none of my other friends understand how it feels because they would all do it too and I just needed somebody to talk to, you know" She rambled almost in tears.
"Oh, I'm so sorry I know how much it hurts." She softly cried in my arms.
"Hey babe" Shane (Destiny's cheating ex) said as he came up to our table. He had been following us all day without Destiny noticing. He was obviously drunk.
"What do you want" she seathed.
"Nothing I just wanted you to know how much fun your best friend and I had together. You know she-" at that moment I stood up and kneed him hard in the weak spot.
"Just stay away from Destiny! You never deserved her anyway."
"Somebody call the mall cops. This girl just assaulted me," he squeaked. Destiny was covering her mouth laughing. He shot her a glare. I picked up our food, and we left before the mall cops kicked us out.
"That was awesome!" Destiny cheered once we got in the car

“Yeah I have really wanted to do that to someone.”

“Thank you so much Alex; you're the best.”

“Do you want to come sleep over and we can talk and eat ice cream?”

“Yes who wouldn't?”

We stooped by Wal-mart and grabbed some ice cream and a chick flick. And after about an hour of her crying on me we started the movie. It was about some guy cheating on some girl, her finding someone else and them living happily ever after. The next morning was Sunday and we went to church. She helped me avoid Colton greatfully.

“Alex why are you avoiding me?” Shalin asked.

“I'm not avoiding you, just Colton.” I lied. “Watch out for him okay? He is a player.”

“He is not. I really love him.”

“Right. . . isn't that what you said about Jax? Ultimately it doesn't matter if you love him. It really matters what he does, so just be careful.”

“Okay thanks Alex.” She gave me a hug and left.

We went home and just talked about nothing. “I miss him” Destiny complained.

“I know but you have to be strong.... I have some friends that I want you to meet.” I said making up my mind. “but first lets make you gorgeous.”

“Your friend is a guy? Alex are you sure.”

“Yes come on.”
Earlier on that day Thane had asked if I wanted to hang out with his friends and him. I didn't think we would but she needed to get out.
