Not the right guy

Chapter 4

hey guys. Please give me your opinion on if you like there talks. As a writer I have a fun time writing it but I don't know if you like reading it so please give me your input. Also my chapters will not be every other one is Colton. Alex is the main character.

Alex POV

My alarm rang. It was 6:00. I sighed and got up. I am NOT a morning person. I got dressed and ready for my day then went to work. I work as a lifeguard for a outside pool in the summers and on weekends. No I am not on duty from 7:00-3:00 I do other things to. (I don't take that long to get ready I just have a 15 minute drive.) I kind of felt bad for lying to him that I work all day but what else could I do? I wasn't comfortable enough with to be alone with him.

Once I got checked in I put on my uniform, red shorts and a white tee with out sleeves. The stupid out fit was required.

I spent two hours at the front desk. I wasn't even doing anything accept reassuring worried parents that their kids were safe. Finally it was my turn to on duty. The girl that I traded out with said "Be careful there is a bunch of teenagers out there and they might pretend to drown or something."

"Ugh I hate it when they do that!"

"Right!" Both of us have had that happen to us multiple times. I got so close to almost giving one of them mouth to mouth.

I got in to the chair and immediately I spotted Thane Colon. Thane we a trombone player in marching band. He did football and basketball. I have done two years of marching band with him so we know each other well. But what do I say to him? The only thing we really talk about is... well band. I just wouldn't say anything unless he talks to me. He was swimming with some of his football friends that I didn't really know. And may I just say they were quite attractive without shirts on. Snap out of it and make sure that nobody drowns. I told myself. I was so focus on not focusing on Thane that I didn't notice that he'd stuck up behind me till he jabbed my side in just the right way it tickled. I let out a very girly screech.

"Thane don't do that" I said still flabbergasted.

"Hey Alex" He said with a smirk. Now a little on his looks. He has brown hair with blonde highlights and he usually spikes it in the front, dimples, hazel eyes, and a very well fit figure.

"Hey Thane. I haven't seen you in forever" I said tearing my eyes off of him to watch the people in the water.

"Yeah I know it's been since May. We will be seeing plenty of each other these next few weeks."

"Oh you're right I totally forgot bad camp was this next week. So much for the last few weeks of summer."

"Are you kidding? It's not summer till band camp arrives."

"You say that now but we will see after its done" I said. He chuckled at this. "You'd better go I have to get back to my job and your friends are waiting" I said.

"Your right. Can you meet me after your shift?"

"Yeah probably. My shift is done at 12:00." He stole my phone and checked the time. It was 10:50 right now.

"Okay see you then" he said.

"Yup." Then he, his gang, and his gangs girlfriends (he was currently single) went to go play volleyball in the pool.

During my shift a little boy came and asked me to help him find his watering. I said that I was on duty right now but he could go ask the blonde guy over there. He did and Thane found his ring in about 30 seconds.

At about 11:55 Thane went into the boys bathroom to shower off. Someone came and took my place and 12:01 sharp. Thane was waiting for me outside of the employees only door.

"Hey, Thane, whats up?"

"I have been waiting here a whole two minute you really needs to be more organized" he said teasingly.

I punched him playfully on the arm. "I guess I was just wondering why you have a full time job"

"Well... umm...." I shrugged my shoulders helplessly. He nodded understanding.

"Well actually I was wondering if I could have your number" he said. I blinked in surprise.

"Yeah sure. At least you ask."

"What?" I laughed and took his phone right out of his hands to put my number in. He looked surprise but he let me do it.

"This guy I know was texting me last night. I asked where he got my number. He just said 'I have my ways'" I said taking a selfie and sending it to everyone on his snap chat.

"Alex did you just take a selfie?"

"Yup sure did." I said giving him back his phone.

"Well I'd better go. See you at band camp."

"Yup bye" I said smiling. Great now 2 hours of cleaning and telling people how certified I am.

At three I tried to get home but the car didn't start. I called my mom to give me a jump start but that didn't work either. Just great we knew that this car was going to fail soon but I had really hoped that it would last longer. My mom called a tow truck.

"Great just great." my mom said.

"It will be okay if we need to we can ask Jake for a little help."

"I know but I just feel like we have asked him for so much already."

"It will be okay I promise."

"Your right."

We waited for the tow truck. Finally it came. The mechanic came and said that he would check it out for free and then we could see what we wanted to do. Why are perfectly good days almost always ruined by something?
