Classes ended in a flash and it was already lunch time. Elektra was right in front of her locker, opening it as she turned the knob, getting the code right.
"Move, you annoying crows!" She heard a familiar voice shout at those girls who were conversing about nails and hair in the middle of the hallway.
Elektra's lips twitched into a small smile. She didn't have to turn to know who it was. Walking down the hallway towards her was her best friend, Chelsea Lamar. Chelsea Lamar is a tall and beautiful black girl with a gorgeous face and body. Her pretty brown skin and her beautiful face made girls jealous of her. Her killer legs made men drool and chase her. She was gorgeous, way gorgeous than her stepsisters. She could be in the popular group if she wanted but she didn't.
Chelsea was also different from others. She's straightforward and a little bit crazy but Ela loved her. She had always been there for Ela and she understood her like no one does. Ela didn't understand why Chelsea would stick with her but she was glad.
"Ela!" She called excitedly, her eyes wide opened as she stopped in front of her friend and enveloped her in a tight crushing hug.
"Chels." Ela replied with an amused smile as she hugged her best friend back tightly. She had missed her so much and she was glad to see her again.
"I missed you!" Chelsea exclaimed as she let go of her. A smile crossed her face as she looked at her friend. She was beautiful as always and she was stupid not to notice it.
"Girl, where have you been? I didn't see you this morning." She asked, curious to where she were as Chelsea was unable to find her in the school area this morning.
Ela stuffed her books in the locker as she replied. "I was late."
Chelsea frowned at her statement as she somehow had figured out her reason."You're still riding that bicycle, aren't you?" Chelsea asked with a stern look.
Ela gave her a sheepish smile and nodded. "Well, I had no choice."
Chelsea let out a sigh as she leaned forward. It was sad for her to see her friend ride that bicycle. It took her a lot of energy to cycle every day to school and by the time she reached school, she would be tired. Chelsea wished she had a better life and those evil witches can go rot in hell. Ela deserved better.
"Elektra, you know I could pick you up." Chelsea said. Her stern look on her face didn't leave her face. She had a car and picking Ela up was not a problem to her at all.
"I know but I just don't want to trouble you." Ela spoke.
Chelsea snorted as she rolled her eyes. "Oh please, Ela. It's no trouble at all! It's not like I have to push the car to get to you."
Ela shrugged before closing her locker. "I know...but still..."
Chelsea held up her hand, stopping her from saying a word. She didn't understand this girl sometimes. Why couldn't she just let her help her?
"No. I'm not going to listen to you. You are going to ride with me starting tomorrow and I'm not going to take 'no' from you. Alright?"
Ela stared at her friend for a while and Chels did the same thing. Ela didn't want to burden her friend. She had done so much to her but she was getting a feeling that Chelsea wouldn't let her decline her offer. Soon, Ela let out a small sigh and nodded in defeat. "Fine."
