There was a young boy, in his arms was his dear sister who was crying silently in his hug. He looked at where the sunset was, gently fading in red. He felt wetness in his eyes but didn't dared to let it out. The presence of warmth was long gone, along with his father and mother. Yet, he was still there, with his sister.

Just a day ago, everything is fine

He asked- plead to those villagers of his parents' whereabouts, all he got were sadness in their eyes and a 'we're sorry' for an answer.

Blinked away the tear droplet in his eyes, he looked at his baby sister who cried to sleep in his arms, he made a vow to himself to take care of her no matter what cost. It was at this day, a little young who forced himself to grow up, be a 'man' and take care of their livings and what's left from his parents.

There they were, held as captives, he couldn't believe his eyes. For fuck sakes, he even attacked his own father! Seeing them ached his heart, sure he's happy that his parents were alive,but why did it still hurts.

He let Nya did the talking, he's not sure if he could look them in the eyes. He knew it's none of their faults, they were forced and threathend them , but the damages still there. What's done it's done. He scar- feared that if something gone wrong again, they would leave them, him alone again. He shook of his trail of thoughts, right now his feelings were irrelevant. He had to get all of his family out of this hell hole. Thus, the siblings grabbed their parents to escape.

When they finally have some reunion time, the Smith family had a reunion hug. Kai stiffened , he didn't mean to, really. The parents and the sister all felt it, only his sister know he pented up all his feelings throughout his entire life. Ray and Maya gave their son a worry gaze , "What's wrong honey?"

Oh god ,that was the final straw, Kai couldn't handle it anyway as he breaks down in front of them. Thank god the others let them have some alone time with their family, he hates embarrassing himself in front of the others. Maya hugged her son immediately, she never knew her son could cry so helplessly like this. When her son hurt himself while practising blacksmithing with his father, he didn't even cry it out. Her baby boy was so strong and tough like a little man back then, now he's like a crybaby.

It hurt all of them to listen Kai's whimpers to not leave him alone again

Maya couldn't help but well up tears in her eyes. She spoke soothing words to her baby boy just like those times where Nya had nightmares.

Ray side-hugged his daughter, both of them couldn't help but got tears rolling down their cheeks. Ray felt guilty for letting his children grew up without having a proper childhood, especially Kai.

This night, both of the parents promised to themselves to always be there for their children, support them both emotionally and mentally.

From now on, Kai won't have to lower his self-worth for the others
Kai won't be living in fear of his loved ones leaving him alone in the dark.
Kai could be a kid that he could never be when he was young.

Even though his overprotective nature wouldn't change,
But there were his parents who always be there for him when he needed them
