Jay's pov

How did things turned out this way? There stood my crush along with an evil lord who shaped like a cloud , but more dangerous and black. That darn evil lord managed to steal both Cole and Zane's elemental power. I looked around, my family's eyes filled with betrayal. I never think Kai would be the one who have betrayed us. He is the most loyal person! Or.. is it a "was" now?

"Yes, feel that hatred Kai, use it as your own power. For I, granted you a chance to revenge who you hated the most!"

Flashback
"You think it is a good idea to keep your secret from us again?!"

Jay was angered and furious. "Just how many secrets of yours you haven't told us yet?" Lloyd tried to calm him down, but he knew himself was also mad at his uncle too.

"So you say that evil lord is feed of victim's hatred. But how come Kai hate somebody?" Nya tried her best to remain rational during this crisis. She just wanted her brother back.

"I can't any reason in my memory database too,"

"I should've ask Kai what is going on in his head instead of just shrug it off like I didn't care," Cole said defeatedly "Hey , it's not your fault, it should be mine. After all , I'm the leader in our team, I should be responsible for Kai's..betrayal,"

Betrayal, tasted bitterly in Lloyd's tongue but it's the most suitable word to use it for this circumstances. "May..maybe, he's being mind control!" Even Jay himself could not convince himself when he said those words.

"I'm sorry Jay, but like I said the evil lord just make the hatred stronger till the victim can use his own hatred as a power to attack the other people. The only way to defeat him is to cancel the hatred out of the victim. Hatred ,is a like a seed of poison. As it grows , it bears apples, shiny poisonous apples,"

"Now use your action to tell me who did you HATE, KAI!" Evil lord laughed maniacally.

"No, please Kai! Don't do this! I-"

"SHUT UP! BOTH OF YOU, ALL OF YOU!" Kai cried in a mix of anger and sadness. Tears couldn't stop flowing down from Kai's eyes. He tried to rub it off multiple times but still couldn't stop the salty water in his eyes from leaking out.

"Just end it all, won't you?"

"If you said so," Black shadow covered  his eyes, Jay couldn't grasp a single expression from his love anymore. But he knew Kai was in pain somehow, he wanted to help Kai but how?

A big swirl of shadow ball ,made out of hatred kept growing bigger and bigger . "Brother..." Nya muttered crying boundlessly. At this point, all of the ninjas and sensei gathered together, hugging and ready to face their doom upon them. "No!!" Jay desperately wanted to just run to Kai's side and did reckless things like what a typical Jay would do but his teamates held him back.

"Finish them!"

A loud explosion occured, sending a big wave of after effect through the surroundings. Trees fell, birds scattered and soon it almost like someone switch on the mute button. There was nothing but dead silence .

"Are we dead?" Cole voiced out

"AHHHH! Don't pinch my cheeks!"

"Jay yelled, that means we're still alive!" Lloyd exclaimed happily while Jay rubbed his cheeks saying he's not the one that asked that question.

"But... What happened?" Nya asked in confusion. "I..have no idea," Sadly ,not even the wise old master,Wu could answer her question.

"Look!"

The team all looked at what Zane pointed at and was shocked to see what they have seen.

"YOU LITTL-"

"who ever said I hate my family?"

The power force was shoved into the evil lord's body . Especially when it's form was very cloud-like , it seemed like it was only a matter of time before the evil lord completely vanished.

"IMPOSSIBLE, YOU'VE HAD SUCH HATRED.. TELL ME, WHO DO YOU REALLY HATE?!"  The evil lord tried to use it's last breath to regain all his power back but it was in vain.

"too bad, i know your tricks and it's useless to me, after all..." Kai muttered as he turned around to look Jay in his eyes. Jay's eyes watered as he saw great despairs and much more he couldn't make a word out of it in Kai's eyes.

"The one I hated the most is me,"

Evil lord glared at Kai for a last time before it completely vanished into thin air. Soon , it accompanied by a loud coughing sound with bloody roses all around the floor. Stems began to grow and and wrap around his body, thorns pricked and it hurts but not as painful as his broken heart. Jay rushed to catch Kai before his body hit the floor. At this point, he didn't care that the aching sensations of thorns pricking through his skins. He just wanted his Kai to revert back to his old self , revert back to everything was nothing but peace! Is that too much to ask?!

"Kai!" Everybody circled around leaving Jay and Kai at the center. "QUICK! CALL THE AMB-"

"it's too late," Kai chuckled darkly ,a few petals flew out through his mouth. "Hanahaki disease..." Zane and Lloyd muttered simultaneously.

"What is Hanahaki, Zane?!" Nya shaked Zane ,crying while demanding for an answer. Cole also wondered the same question as he bit his lips back to hold his cry.

"It is a disease that the pati-"

"Basically it's the actual love'sick'," Lloyd cut off his nindroid teamates. He just wanted to cherish the last moment he ,no the team had with Kai.

"If you put it that way , yeah. And Kai's been in the final stage now, there's no cure or ways to save him now," as robotic as he sounded, he was having an inner emotional breakdown with Pixal there trying to comfort him.

"Baby , don't hate yourself," Jay sobbed , bringing Kai to his chest . Listening to Jay's heartbeat , somewhat eased the ache in his heart  a little. "I'm sorry.." Kai sounded like a child who had done bad. It made Jay's heart broke even more.

"Please tell me who your crush is, Kai. Maybe there's still hope ! There's still a chance for you to stay alive! Please,Kai..." Jay sounded almost like he's pleading to Kai.

The vines wrapped around Kai tighter than before ,both his physical body and blood vessels. Kai motioned Jay to come over as if he finally decided to reveal his little secret. Jay took no time to lean closer to Kai.

A warm sensations pressed upon his lips, Jays stunned and looked at Kai straightly in his eyes tho Kai had his eyes closed. Kai wouldn't dare to see what expression Jay was making right now, he didn't want to see disgusted face Jay might be making, especially this is Kai's final moment.

It lasted like a few seconds ,but it feels like an eternity both of them wanted to cherish before Kai pulled away. "Hehe.. I've always wanted to do this," Kai giggled weakly as his breath getting slower and slower.

"No no no! Kai, don't sleep! Stay with me! I LOVE YOU!"

But it was too late, Kai was gone. Forever. Kai was not a nindroid like Zane, he is a human. A heartbroken human who desperately seek for love but felt that he didn't deserve it.

Cries of sorrow filled all around the places. Jay just kept on holding on to Kai's body while the others cried.

Nya cried in Lloyd's hold with Cole trying to soothe her on the back even tho he himself too could not hold back the tears anymore and tasted his own tears with the irony taste in his mouth. Wu cried and it's been a long time since he did cry.

I'm sorry. I should've tell you the first time I fall in love in you , Kai
