Two years have passed since the war and the members of class 1-A have finally graduated. At the ceremony, Izuku was given the offer to speak on behalf of his classmates to explain how happy he was that everyone with them today passed and are moving to the next stages in life. In a way of speaking, Izuku was proud to be where he was, but still held remorse in himself. At the reception, Izuku sat at a table with his daughter Eri, two now soon to be wives Ochako and Nejire, Ryukyu, and their parents. The scene was nice, but Izuku had something else on his mind that he needed to do. “Hey mom. Do you mind watching Eri for a little bit. I need to go somewhere with the girls.” “Sure sweetie. Just don’t make me a grandmother just yet.” The three blushed before they walked out. “What was that about?” Heiwa asked with the guys at the table trying to think about what this could be. “Izuku wants to do something that he needs to show Nejire and Ochako.” Ryukyu said this remembering what he said to her.

“What is it? It’s nothing dangerous, right?” “No. Think of it as, Izuku closing the book on a chapter of his life to finally move forward.” “Cryptic.” Hisashi said while passing eri a cookie under the table for her to take it and start enjoying the small snack. ‘Thank you Izuku Midoriya. Helping you has indirectly helped me. Let this journey reach its end today and have a new one open up.’

With Izuku and the girls

The three left the party and walked some distance in the city of Mustafar. “So where are we going?” “It’s a secret.” Izuku smiled at Nejire while they walked down the sidewalk. They came to a building that they went in and walked towards the roof. “Izuku. Is everything ok?” Ochako asked for them to reach the door to the roof. “Yeah. I just wanted to do something as kinda a symbolic way to end what I began years ago.” They walked to the roof to find an old note that looked like it succumbed to the elements. “Irony that’s here still.” Izuku unfolded the paper and gave it to Ochako and Nejire. “When I was about to end it all, I did one final thing before leaving. I wrote an apology letter to my mom.” The two read the note to realize just how bad the state of Izuku’s mind was back then.

To whoever finds this,

My name is Izuku Midoriya. Chances are, I’m dead. Due to years of constant abuse of not being born with a quirk, being made a whipping boy and being told that I could never be a hero or someone worth much in the world, I decided to end this. If you could, please tell my mother Inko Midoriya that I’m sorry that I was born defective and that her life would be better off without me in it. I didn’t do this to hurt her...I just couldn’t take the pain anymore.

From, Izuku Midoriya

“Welp. Here we are again.” Izuku jumped the railing to look down at the street below. “Izuku!” Both girls panicked before he held his hand out. “From here, everything looked so….small the first time. I don’t get it, but it’s different now.” Remembering back to the day he was here last, Izuku saw himself actually happy he got to choose a way for himself to go and nobody would tell him it was dumb. Granted, who would’ve questioned the deadman. “It took so much pain for me to finally accept the end I had. And it’s thanks to that, I met you two.” The girls remembered how Izuku fell into their lives to glance over when they heard pebbles falling. “It took everything I had to find somebody back then that actually cared for me being dead. But now...this feels like a lifetime ago.” “Izuku. What exactly are you here to do?”

Izuku glanced over at Nejire to answer her question. “I’m going to do what I didn’t have the courage to do the first time I found myself at this ledge.” Izuku lifted his one leg up to move over the railing and back to safety. “Live. I took an easy way out and that life I was given was squandered cause of me choosing to die. I’ll never get a third chance, so this was more to say ‘the book to my origin is over. I’ll never forget the past for as long as I live, but I’m done living in the past.” He walked up to both Ochako and Nejire before kissing their lips. “Consider this…..my life after death.” The two walked off the roof and returned to the party understanding that their life as where they started from is over, but the family they have and their adult lives finally began.
