*Nestorio POV*

Cahriid and I were on our toes as we were rushing in our car towards the place where there was supposedly a villain attack reported. It unknown what kind of villain it was, but we're about to find out soon enough.

"Cahriid, how long 'til we get there?" I asked, not wanting to waste anymore time.

"About 5 minutes, Nestor." Cahriid replied.

"Step on the speed, we need to get there faster!" I ordered.

"But Nestor, the speed limit!" Cahriid reminded.

"Just do it!" I yelled.

Obliging, Cahriid stepped on the car pedal as we went from 75km/h to a whopping 180km/h in mere seconds. As we drew closer to our location, Cahriid drifted the car in an attempt to slow it down while I hopped out and pointed my arrow at the villain who was supposedly causing trouble.

"Ah, a hero finally arrives... How nice of you to come, I am Reverb..." The villain introduced herself while holding quite a few civilians hostage.

"Yeah, I'm not very interested in knowing your name." I spoke as I rolled my eyes.

"How rude... And here I thought heroes were all mostly polite..." Reverb said.

"Not in this situation we're not, now release those civilians and you'll make it easier for yourself." I threatened, tightening my grip towards my bow.

"You talk big, reminds me of someone I know." Reverb said.

Not wasting anymore time, I shot a taser arrow right at her in an attempt to immobilise her. However, she caught the arrow and absorbed the energy inside the arrow.

"Thank you for the fuel, my dear hero." Reverb thanked before sending a shockwave directly at me.

I was caught in her attack as the force was powerful enough to send me flying. Luckily, Cahriid was there to catch me as he enlarged his hand and grabbed me while I was flying mid-air.

"Thanks Cahriid." I thanked as he let me down onto the ground.

"Oh, you brought your friend! Perfect! We can have a party!" Reverb exclaimed excitedly.

"Stop that." Cahriid replied as he enlarged his fist once again and crushed Reverb. However, the impact was once again absorbed by Reverb as she let out a surge of energy that repelled Cahriid's fist.

"So, I can't shoot her with an arrow and you can't crush her with those large hands of yours. Got any plans?" I asked Cahriid.

"I could enlarge my foot and kick her..?" Cahriid suggested.

"That would give off the same effect, though." I said.

"You're not wrong there." Cahriid replied.

"Hmmm..." I thought to myself as I noticed a log not too far away from us. Maybe...

I picked up the log and faced towards Reverb. For some reason, she had this look of fear in her face, so I assumed that this Reverb girl had a fear of logs or something. Logphobia..? I can think of it later.

Holding the log in my arms, I swung the base of it directly at Reverb. It managed to hit her as she instantly passed out after one swing. Huh, weird. I thought she'd be more durable. No matter, at least we got the job done.

Without wasting any time, Cahriid and I instantly went over and untied the civilians Reverb held hostage. Usually, when Cahriid and I do this, the civilians would be ecstatic and grateful. But for some reason, these civilians had looks of grimace on their faces.

"You heroes couldn't have come sooner!? Somebody could've died!" One civilian yelled angrily.

"Apologies, sir. We got here as fast as we could." I apologised.

"Well next time you should arrive faster! I don't care if you have to follow the speed limit or whatever bullshit, the only reason these damn villains are running around free is because you guys messed up!" The civilian scolded.

"Yeah! Now leave before you attract more villains over!" Another civilian yelled angrily as they threw some random object towards Cahriid and I.

Soon enough, most of the civilians we saved, plus a few others started throwing stuff at us. They probably lost their faith in heroes and wanted us to leave as soon as possible.

"How can you guys do this to us!? We're literally the ones who saved you-"

"It's alright, Cahriid. Let's just go." I interrupted Cahriid and said calmly.

Nodding, Cahriid entered the car as he kick-started it up. Before I entered, I took a good look at the civilian's faces. Most of them wore hateful expressions, except one. That one wore an expression of hope.

I sighed before entering the car as Cahriid drove the both of us away from that city.

"Maybe there is hope..." I thought to myself.
