Lucas's POV
My friends had come to know about Andrea taking over my company. Even Aiden and Zoe were back from their honeymoon early. I was lucky to have such nice friends, even Claire who was clinging to me at the moment.
We were gathered at Samuel's place. He had taken the reins and had decided to call an impromptu meeting. I was so grateful and I knew my friends would show me a way out of this mess.
Ethan had brought a whiteboard into the room and had written 'Dethrone Andrea' at the top of it. We all were brainstorming for ideas.
"Baby, you don't have to worry about money. I will always be by your side. My parents will surely support their future son-in-law." Claire moaned into my ear. Was she trying to be sensual? Because the only thing I felt was uncomfortable.
"Shut up, Claire. Now is not the time to sink your claws into Luc." Zoe snapped. She was usually a very quiet and sweet girl, but Claire brought out the worst in her. They always were like cat and mouse.
"I agree with Zoe. We need a solid plan. All of us are here to support Luc, and we want the company back not your daddy's money."
"Yeah, yeah. You are your wife's lapdog." Oh my god! I was annoyed by Claire sometimes, actually most of the time. She always started petty fights.
"Claire, thank you for your support but can we plan about taking the company back now?"
"Yes, snookums." -snookums, couldn't she find any other word - "Whatever you say." She then leaned into my side and played with my hair with her hands which I immediately removed.
"Would we be able to defeat her, if all our companies teamed together?" Samuel asked, leaving the question open for discussion.
"We can't say, Sam. Rivera Industries is the biggest company in the states and there is no guarantee we can rival her." Aiden spoke.
"We won't win if we play fair Luc." Zoe piped in. " We would have to play her to get the company back as she did with you."
"Yeah, and she's not smart like me." The speaker of this sentence was no mystery but she was ignored.
"She would be on high alert, dumbass." Zoe snarled.
If the situation wasn't so grave, I would have laughed and encouraged the fight between them.
