The Fortunate

Prolog

Hey, I hope my story is good. I do have a problem with spelling and grammar so if you see anything pls point it out that will help TY.

The day was April 14, 1981. Travis and his 7 friends Nathan, Elizabeth, Tayler, Ava, Oliver, Eric, William, and his brother Daniel went on a vacation for all the work they did helping others. Travis didn't want his 19-year-old brother coming with them, but his parents said,

"Daniel is your brother, so he might be young, but you still love him."

Travis always hated it when his parents said he loved him, or that he loved this or that. It got on his nerves. As they were driving in their white bus to the cabin that would take another hour, Travis thought of what they could do and all the fun stuff they could accomplish. As he kept thinking he started drifting off to sleep and had the worst dream in his entire life. Travis dreamed he was in a basement. There was this old man who had a white beard and white mustache with a cloak around him. He busted into the room holding some colorful rocks. He hid them in a bag and stuffed them in a cupboard behind the laundry detergent. Then another ugly-looking man came in, whose face was all wrinkly and he had green slime coming down his back and out of his mouth. The ugly man spoke with a raspy voice

"Where are the rocks, Noah?"

"I will never tell you, brother," Noah said calmly.

"Wait," thought Travis, "These people are brothers. How can this be that one is super ugly and the other looks wise and nice? This is not happening." Travis tried moving but he couldn't. His feet were stuck to the ground and then everything froze. Even ugly brother froze. Then the old wise man, Noah, turned to Travis and said in a soft voice,

"When you get here, take the rocks. I trust in you Travis. There is no other person I trust other than you...Now go, Travis. Save the world."

Then Travis heard the voice of Ava saying,

"Travis wake up! We are here. Travis wake up!" Ava shouted louder. Then Travis woke up with sweat dripping down his forehead. As Travis was getting off the bus, the only thing he could think of was Noah's words. Then Travis looked up and saw a sign that read "Welcome to California." California was one of the most beautiful places in the world. There were people laughing and people saying hello. Travis liked it here. He decided that when he could get his own house, he would live here. After a mile of walking into stores buying stuff for the girls, they got to the cabin and waited for the owner to meet them. Ava asked him what happened on the bus Travis replied,

"It was just a bad dream. Don't worry about it."

"OK?" replied Ava. Travis knew that Ava would not stop bugging him until she got the information out of him. When the owner came out of the woods and Travis looked at him, he was shocked to see that he looked exactly like the old man in his dream except his beard was gray. The man gave them the key and said,

"Enjoy your stay, Travis." Everyone looked at him in surprise. They noticed that Travis had never told him his name. Nathen had made the reservation, not him. They walked into the cabin and there was one bedroom, two bathrooms, and a hide-a-bed couch. In one closet, there were board games and card games like Shoots and Ladders, Monopoly, Candyland, and Dark Tower. When Eric saw Dark Tower, he darted forward, grabbed the game, and started setting it up even though he knew not all of them would want to play with him because he was a cheater. But he didn't mind. Everyone except Eric started putting down their sleeping bags and put all their stuff on the ground and all the girls went to the bathroom to fix their hair. That night Travis could not keep from telling his friends what his dream was about and how the owner of the cabin looked exactly like the old man Noah in his dream. Everybody believed him except for his brother Daniel. Daniel just thought that Travis was trying to scare all of them but he wasn't going to fall for it when all of the sudden they heard a loud "BANG!" They heard it again so Travis got up and looked around to try to find where the noise was coming from. At the third bang, Travis noticed that it was coming from the basement. Everyone grabbed something to defend themselves with. Travis grabbed a bat, William grabbed a frying pan, and they both started walking down when Eric grabbed the game Dark Tower and ran down the stairs yelling "Die! Monster!" Travis and Wiliam quickly caught up to Eric with the others behind them. As they got down in the room, Travis recognized this room. This was the room from his dream. He quickly ran to the cupboard and opened it, moved the laundry detergent, and found that there was the same bag the old man Noah stashed away. He opened the bag and grabbed the biggest rock. The color was white and black. Everyone came over and grabbed a rock and stared at it. Nathen's rock was a light blue shiny color, Elizabeth's rock was green, Tayler couldn't figure out what her color was because the colors were moving so fast, Ava's rock was pink, Eric's rock was yellow, William's rock was brown, and Oliver's rock was red. Once all of them touched, they collapsed. Then Daniel collapsed when he saw that the rest of them had collapsed. Just then, the owner entered the room and brought all of them up and laid them down on the floor, and started a fire in the fireplace.

Eventually, Travis woke up with the rock in his hand and looked around for the others, but he didn't see them. Then he heard a voice say,

"They are out getting firewood for the fire." Travis quickly got up and grabbed his bat.

"Please calm down, I am not going to hurt you," the voice said again. Travis put his bat down,

"What happened?" Travis asked, "And who are you?"

"We can talk when the others get back...and you know who I am Travis."

As soon as he said that, Travis knew who it was. It was Noah the guy in his dreams. Travis grabbed his bat again.

"Please put it down. The others are almost here," Noah said calmly.

"Where are you," asked Travis as he was spinning around looking for him. The old man stepped out of the shadows.

"Please sit there here," said Noha as his friends walked in.

"Please everyone sit we don't have much time" everyone sat down, and the old man continued "You have all been chosen to help protect the world from my brother these rocks hold power all have you have power except for you Daniel you don't have a rock, so you don't have power but you Travis show me witch rock you choose." Travis showed him his rock, "owww yes the black and white rock you are the leader you have the power of shadows, Nathen you have the power of Archery, Elizabeth my darling you have the power of strategy, Tayler my girl you have the power of speed that is why you can't see what the color was a first now tack a look at it." Tayler looked and the color and it started slowing down Tayler could see that her rock was purple, "And Ava you have the power of beauty and to make stuff grow, Aric" Nolen looked at Aric and he saw that Eric was still holding dark tower game in his arm "umm you have the power of a smith's work and building things" "And Oliver you have the power of illusion."

"Awesome" Eric interrupted

"anyway," Noha said ignoring Eric's comment "And finally William you have the power of strength" after what Noha said everyone started talking at once,

William said "This is so cool I can't wait to tell my parents" he was about to say more but Noha interrupted

"You can't tell anyone about this if you do my brother will know and destroy you so you need to keep it to yourself" the room was silent after Noha saying someone will destroy them "A couple more things I need to tell you you can't see your parent once you touched the rock it erased your parent memory of you guys you need to hide yourself you can still get married but when your child is born you have 5 years or less with your child then you have to leave your family

There 13 birthdays try to get them to camp half Fortunate they will learn to fight and be like you but unlike you, they will stay mortal"

"Wait, we are immortal?" asked Eric

"yes, are you not listening boy now don't interrupt!" yelled Noha "now go to bed tomorrow you will hide somewhere and build your fortress and start getting married" "And Daniel first thing in the morning you need to head to your home your parents will be worried. Goodnight" everyone got up and went to sleep.

That night Daniel could not sleep he was so mad that he didn't get any superpowers but no his no-good brother got some he got so mad he walked to his brother sleeping on the floor next to William and grabbed Travis's rock then tried grabbing Williams rock from his hand but golden and after trying 3 times he Tripped on Williams's foot and fell on the floor with a big thud Tarvis quickly woke up and saw Daniel with his rock Daniel replied "no you have always gotten it your way but not today"

after Daniel said that Noha quickly said, "Daniel you can't control that if you go away with that something bad will happen."

"Don't tell me what to do old man!" Daniel yelled Daniel started to run away when he got to the wounds he heard Travis telling Tayler to get it back as Tayler ran faster than a cheetah she finally reached Daniel and asked him to give it back or she will take him down Daniel reapplied

"bring it" before Tayler touched him Daniel started getting taller and started getting bigger then the weirdest thing happened his two eyes turned into one eye and he became a cyclops and he punched Tayler and she was knocked out and Daniel disappeared. Travis quickly helped Tayler up; we needed to go now and hide.
