It took several weeks for Newt's leg to heal but as soon as it did the gladers organized a bonfire for the new greenie and Newt. In the last few weeks y/n took care about Newt and helped him in any ways she could. They spent a lot of time together and became really good friends. In the evening the boys and y/n started the bonfire. They sit down and talked.
Ben: So who wants to play truth or dare?
Y/n, Newt, Minho, Fry-Pan and Gally: Me!
Ben: Okay Gally. Truth or dare?
Gally: Dare.
Ben: Dance like a chicken.
Gally dances and everyone starts laughing.
Gally: Y/n. Truth or dare?
Y/n: Truth.
Gally: Are you in love?
Y/n: I'm not sure.
Gally: What does that mean?
Y/n: It means that I'm not sure about my feelings you idiot!
Everyone starts laughing again.
Y/n: Newt? Truth or dare?
Newt: Truth.
Y/n: Are YOU in love?
Newt: Yea.
Everyone looks at Newt then at y/n.
Newt and y/n: What?
Minho: I mean y/n is the only girl 'round here.
Y/n: Oh c'mon Minho!
Minho: Okay then, Ben? Truth or dare?
Ben: Dare.
Minho: Who's your favorite 'round here?
Ben: That's mean. I like everyone here.
Minho: You have to tell us one person!
Ben: I mean of all girls y/n is my favorite.
They start laughing.
Minho: So y/n is your favorite?
Ben: Yea. She's like a sister for me and-
He stops talking because Gally stands up angrily and walks over to him.
Gally: What did you say?!
Ben: I- I said that y/n is like a sist-
Y/n: GALLY!
Gally just punched Ben in his face.
Gally: I'm her brother. Not! You!
Ben: I mean me and Minho are with her most of her time and you're just here in the glade while she risks her life everyday in the maze.
Gally: If you would really care you would have recognized that she hadn't been in there for a month. She took care of Newt.
Y/n: Please guys! Stop!
Gally punches him again. Then Ben punches back.
Y/n: Guys!
Ben and Gally won't listen. Tears come to y/n's eyes and she starts running away crying the hell out of her. She runs over to the hammocks and lays down crying into her hands.
Newt: Hey.
Y/n: Newt?
Newt: They stopped after you ran away and feel terrible now.
Y/n: They fought because of me. They hurt each other because of me.
Newt sits next to her and hugs her. He holds her like that until y/n calms down. Newt pulls back is arms and now their faces are only 10 centimeters away. They slowly get closer but before their lips touch Gally walks in. Quickly Newt and y/n stand up.
Newt: I'll go back to the others.
Newt walks away looking back several times before sitting at the bonfire. He carefully looks over to them some times.
Gally: I'm so sorry y/n. I was stupid. I mean he was right. We hadn't spent time together for a while now. Even though you were here in the glade you were with Newt. Please forgive me. You are the only one I have. I don't want to loose you.
Y/n: You won't get rid of me that fast Gally! You understand me? I won't leave you until the day I die and even after that I'll annoy you.
Gally: You never annoy me.
They start laughing and y/n wipes her tears away.
Gally: So you said you're not sure.
Y/n: What?
Gally: Earlier when we played truth or dare.
Y/n: Yea I did. Why?
Gally: Tell me who the lucky one is.
Y/n: But please don't tell anyone.
Gally: Of course not you shank!
Y/n: And don't be mad at me!
Gally: OKAY!!! NOW TELL MEEEEEEEEE!
