Yuuto's POV

"Leave! Leave! Leeeeeeeaave!!!" The monster roared.
I took a step back. I see that the monster raised one of his arms and was about to hit Deuce.
"Deuce, watch out!!!" I yelled at him but it was too late. Deuce was hit and got collided with the rocky wall.
"Guuuh!" Deuce groaned. I then ran up to him to check if he had serious injuries.

"Deuce! Are you alright?" I asked him, helping him stand up.
"Yeah, I'm fine." He said before giving me a smile, trying to reassure me that he's really alright.

"Stand back if you have no control, Mr. Serious! I'll stop it! Haaa!" Ace stepped in and shoots the monster with one of his spells but it didn't affect the monster at all. Instead, it only made him more angry.
"Wuuuuuuuuoooooohhhh!!" And like what happened before, the monster hit Ace and he collided with the wall.
"Guuhaaah!!" Ace groaned
"Ace!" After making sure that Deuce is alright, I ran up to Ace helping him stand up.
"You okay?"
"Does it look like I'm okay?" He was trying to be sarcastic but his coughing was in the way of his sarcasm.

"Ffgnaaa!! Stay away!!" Grim yelped as he shoots his fire at the monster but it's still not affective.

"Grrr!!!" The monster growled.
"I-it's not working at all!" Grim stuttered out. Then something began to shine from the corner of my eye.
"Did something sparkle just now?" I asked to no one.

"Behind that thing! At the end of the tunnel, something..." Ace said while pointing at the end of the tunnel. I could see something sparkling there.
"That light, is it a magical crystal...!?" For some reason , what Deuce said triggered the monster.

"GGGOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!! WON'T GIIIIIVE!!!" The monster growled louder.
"L-l-l-l-let's get out of here! We're done for at this rate!" Grim said before jumping on my shoulder.
"You said it, little guy! Let's get out of here guys!!" I told the guys before we ran out of there, until we were safe.
"Gggooooohhh!!!" The monster growled one last time before we were out of the mine.

We then arrived at the old house the Dwarf's used to live. I stopped as I leaned against a tree, catching my breath. Deuce also leaned at the tree next to me. Ace was heavily panting, his palms on his knees.

"Is this far enough?" Grim asked, looking completely fine.
"Oooww... What in the world was that? No one said anything about that!" Ace groaned as he sat on the ground.
"It didn't seem like any old ghost." Deuce said, regaining his composure.
"Let's give up and go home. I'd rather get expelled than fight that thing." I snapped my head at Ace.

"Wha!? Don't screw with me! I'd rather die than face expulsion!" Deuce suddenly sounded like a different person.
"There's a magic crystal right in front of us and you wanna go home!" He definitely changed his persona.
"Ha. You talk big for someone worse at magic than me. Go alone if you want. I'm done." Ace said as he gave Deuce a sharp glare. This is getting out of hand.

"Ooh, that right? Then stay right there cowering like a spineless coward!" Grim and me were taken aback by Deuce. He definitely entered 'Bad Boy' mode.
"Huuuuuh?? Coward? Who exactly are you talking about?" Ace smirked at Deuce.

"U-uuhh... Deuce. Did you switch up your character? Grim stuttered a bit.
"Yeah Deuce! What's with the bad boy attitude?" I asked him. That seemed to snap him out from his 'Bad Boy' mode.

"Huh! A-ahem! My bad. I lost my composure a bit." He cleared his throat.
"Hmm what to do... Can magic help up at all at this point?" I mumbled to myself, but looks like the guys heard me.
"Like the headmaster said earlier, magic isn't all-powerful. If you can't imagine it then it won't materialize. Large-scale or complicated magic require a lot of training to use." Deuce explained.
"But that's why we have schools for magic. You have to practice a lot to use magic just at it comes to mind. Bluntly, you'll screw up if you lose your cool." Ace added.

"Well, everybody has just been using it willy-nilly." I said.
"Stuff you're good at you can go off instinct." Ace tells me as I nod.

"At any rate, I'm going in there. I'll figure out how to  beat that thing and come back with a magic crystal." Deuce said with determination.
"However, judging by the chandelier incident, you're a complete idiot. You couldn't land a hit earlier but now you'll "figure it out"? It's going to end the same." Ace said with a smirk in his face.

"Come again!?! You think of..." Deuce switched his persona again.
"Here they go again." Grim sighs. Well, I've had enough of this.

"Will the two of you knock it off!!" I yelled at both of them.
"!!!" The three of them looked surprised at my sudden outburst.
"Waah. Why are you shouting all of a sudden?" Grim yelped.
"Listen, neither of you could do anything back there."
I said.
"Guuhh... B-But... What exactly should we do?" Deuce asked.
"Well we gotta put our head together and come up with a proper strategy!" I told them, crossing my arms.
"Strategy? You mean get along and work together?" I nodded at him.
"Ha! That's cold. You have no problem saying lame things with a serious face, huh." Ace said.
"Hey!" I pouted.
"Agreed. No way I'm working with this loser." Deuce huffed.
"Come on guys... Don't be like that.." I begged.
"But... I feel like it's way lamer to get expelled on the first day of school" Grim told them.
"Uuh, that's..." Ace was at a loss for words.
"He's got a point!" I said as the two boys sighed.

"....haaaah. Fine! We just have to get it done, right!" Ace huffed, giving up.
"So what's your plan?" I giggled.
"Hehe, so here's my plan...."

We arrived once again at the entrance of the Dwarfs' Mine.
"You... really think it'll go as planned? I'm sca... no, just nervous." Grim said, trying not to sound scared.
"Don't worry little guy! It'll be fine!" I said, trying to reassure him.
"Haha, you're too stiff. Just go with the flow. Let's get this over with!" Ace told Grim.
I wonder if my plan will work.
