"Sometimes it all gets a little too much
But you gotta realize that soon the fog will clear up
And you don't have to be afraid, because we're all the same
And we know that sometimes it all gets a little too much."
~ A Little Too Much, Shawn Mendes
Trigger Warning: Talks of Asexuality, sex, relationships, panic attack, and a very mild make-out scene.
Finley's POV
"How do I look?" I asked Emma, who was sitting on my bed. She looked up and smiled at me. She had come over to do my hair and help with my make-up. We had spent most of the day catching up on sleep.
"You look amazing!" she exclaimed. I was in a daisy printed navy blue sundress with buttons down the front and white lace around the hem. I sat down and pulled on my brown ankle boots. Both of our heads popped up when we heard the knock on the door. Emma rushed over as I pulled on my jean jacket. I turned around to look at Alec as he walked in, who smiled at me shyly. He was in dark khaki pants and a light blue button down, his black leather jacket on over top.
"Come on, let me get a picture of you two." Em gushed. Lex and I both laughed. He pulled me into his side. I wrapped my arm around him and laid my right hand on his chest. Emma snapped a few photos of us and then sent us on our way.
The restaurant was amazingly nice. There was candles lit on every table and fairy lights strung across the ceiling. I flipped through the menu.
"The drinking age in Canada is nineteen right?" I asked. Alec laughed.
"Yes, you can drink here. I've gotta drive and I don't drink much anyway." He replied.
"I don't drink either, but I've always wanted to try Rosé."
"Go ahead. You're allowed." He laughed as the server came back and I ordered the wine.
Our night was amazing. The food was the best and the wine was good too. Alec drove us back to my hotel, both of us joking about the long way home. I invited him back to my room for dessert. I changed into pjs as he called for room service; chocolate cheesecake to share, coffee for him and a caramel latte for me.
"I never got the coffee and dessert thing until now. I feel like an adult." I said laughing when we finished our cheesecake. We were both sitting crossed legged on the bed, finishing our coffee. He laughed lightly.
"More like two over-grown children playing adults." I glared at him. He set his cup on the nightstand and leaned forward to take mine, setting it down too.
"I wasn't done." I protested, but he caught me off guard and pulled me onto his lap, kissing me. It was different than normal, yet still amazing. Fast yet slow. It was something entirely new to me.
The kiss turned more heated, more passionate. We fell backwards, in the most innocent way, him on top of me. Alec pulled back, laughing lightly, then he was kissing me again. He was still hovering over me, hands gripping my waist.
I didn't know what do. I was enjoying this, and I wanted more. But this was more than I ever had done before. The closest to sex I have ever gotten.
"Oh my God, what if he wants to have sex?" I thought, the idea taking my breath away. Alec gently pushed his hands up under my shirt, running gentle circles over my skin. Suddenly, it was all too much. I had been enjoying this, until now. It felt like the room was closing in on me. I couldn't get enough breath and it wasn't from the kissing. I pulled away and gasped for breath. Alec pulled his head back, looking at me curiously.
