YIKES! This has been in my draft for so long that the second season of Lumine is already here. Well, might as well post this. I actually wanted to write half the story so I don't accidentally leave this on a hiatus (like I am cursed to do), but... what else can I do? Leave it to rot? No sir!

Please know that I'm currently obsessed with several other ships, and that I might not prioritize this one as much. I'm sorry.

Please enjoy. This starts from chapter 115/episode 109 of the Webtoon. And because this was made before episode 115 came out, this is gonna be a big ass deviation from whatever upcoming story Lumine will have. There will be lots of tweaks to suit my own plot, but I hope it's as enjoyable as I'd like it to be :)

Red drips, talons caress. The memory of canine teeth draws a shudder.

He clutches the necklace tighter, sighing, half-bowed. His eyes close and old memories of a blue-eyed parental figure with black fur flit by. The chain is cold, plated gray, and heavy with a promise.

What would he say now? If he saw Lumine?

"Heeey Lumine! It's your turn!"

"O-oh," he raises his head, the string wired between anxious fingers. The were-dog raises her hand, gesturing her head to the ring as a crowd can be heard outside, raging, screaming, with money bet and bloodlust to quench.

"You've got three minutes, hurry up."

"Yeah..." he loops the steel necklace under his shirt, voice quiet and unnaturally distant. He shifts back onto his feet, finger pad tingling with the metallic touch of something precious.

Lets go.

His paws hit the ground, slowly trekking to the middle of the closed ring as he faintly registers the roaring crowd of spectators.

One more.

The lights are low, dimmed to match the dreary, cardinal ambience it never seems to lose. Remnants of spilled blood linger in the air when his nose twitches, old, new, flaked brown, or recently shed under the watchful wakefulness of hungry onlookers.

Just one more fight.

He stops.

When Lumine looks up, his tiny neck craned, his shadow is over-loomed by the hulking form of a brown, nameless were-dog. The red tint glints off his exposed fangs, painting lines of sharp contrast.

"So you're the tiny bastard that has been winning matches left and right." The were-dog's eyes are a cold, unfocused pale blue, and his teeth are just as sharp when he barks a cackle. "Laughable."

Heavy paws thud closer, his body coiled low with an unspoken warning. The threat of his ire doesn't go unnoticed. "I'm not going to be defeated by some runt."

His fur is bathed in the glow of harsh red, a growl restrained in his chest, his right ear comically flopped aside.
