Sarada POV
Boruto and I walked back to the campsite together and saw that Mitsuki was still asleep.I was really tired and Boruto seemed pretty fine.
"Are you going to be okay out here alone?" I asked him. He chuckled and replied, "Trust me, Uchiha. I'll be fine."And with that said, I headed towards my tent for the night while Boruto stayed up for a little longer and sat by the fire.
It's crazy for me to wrap my head around the fact that Boruto would be right outside of my tent while I slept. The things that could happen right now...
I fell asleep a little over five minutes of laying down.
Boruto POV
I stayed up in my tent, restless. I went to go get some fresh air but I realized that Sarada wasn't at the camp site. I assumed that she went on a walk so I went to go look for her.I had no idea where she would have gone but then I remembered what my mom said, so I looked around somewhere where the stars and the moon was very visible.
I walked over to the lake since there were no trees in the way to block the view of the sky and luckily, I saw Sarada laying down, staring up at the stars. I couldn't do anything but admire her but she walked towards me soon after I had just arrived.
We walked back to the camp site afterwards and I decided that I should stay outside. I wasn't ready to go to sleep yet.
After about 15 minutes of me sitting down, I hear Sarada groaning. Could she have been having a nightmare?
I walked over to her tent to check on her and when I looked at her, she was fast asleep but she was tossing and turning while her breathing was heavy and she was mumbling.
I gently touch her arm and she jerks awake. Her breathing remains heavy and she stared at me in panic.
"Sarada? Is everything alright?" I asked her, concerned.
Her eyes began to water and she wrapped her arms tightly around me.
"Boruto... I thought that you were gone. I really thought that I had lost you. She... she... she was..." Sarada never got to finish since she broke down into tears before she could continue.
I had no idea what happened so all that I could do was stay with her and comfort her.
Sarada then looked up and me and said, "Boruto?" I looked down into her onyx eyes and replied, "Yes?"
"Could you... stay with me?" I was taken by surprise hearing her say that. "Yeah, I can stay for a bit." I said.
"No. I mean can you stay with me for tonight? I need you to stay with me in the tent. It's just for tonight though. And it's up to you, I'm not going to force you to do anything that you're not comfortable with."
I gave her a reassuring smile and a smile formed onto her lips as well. I replied, "Of course", and Sarada laid back down, trying to get comfortable.
She made sure that there was enough space for me next to her and I soon slid underneath the covers next to Sarada. She wrapped her arms around me and hurried her head into my chest.
I think that I'll actually be able to sleep tonight.
Mitsuki POV
I woke up and looked over to check on Boruto. When I saw that he was gone, I slightly panicked. Maybe he woke up before me and went to get more fish for breakfast? Maybe him and Sarada went on a walk? Or maybe...
