Ch. 34

A/N: Sorry, but this chapter won't be a continued part of the last one. that will be in chapter 35. this one will be about the kids

Sage POV
I take my sleeping bag out of my blanket and set it up in a spot before anyone else can set theirs up. After that, I grab my pajamas and get into the shower.

As I'm bathing, thoughts flood my mind.

I wonder if Niko is going to choose to sleep next to me. As long as it's not Kai, I actually don't mind who I'm next to. 

Kai tends to snore loudly and kick in his sleep so if I end up with a foot in my face tonight, someone is going to get it. Niko has been acting a little... off ever since the leaf shinobi left for the night.

He seems to distance himself a little more. Maybe this whole situation is having a negative affect on him? I just hope that he's okay. Maybe I should try talking to him once everyone falls asleep tonight. I will make sure to stay up long enough for the others to fall asleep before me.

Niko always stays up later than usual so I won't have to worry about him being one of the first ones to fall asleep.

Well actually, now that I think about it... I kind of already know how the sleeping spots are going to look. Akari's bed is leaning up against the wall and her bed is located directly in the center.

Luka is going to sleep closest to the bed on the left side because that is the side of the bed that Akari sleeps on. Obviously he won't be inside of the bed with her but you know what I mean.

The door to Akari's room is also on the left side and there is a window on the right side of her room. That's kind of where I am. Except I'm located closer to Akari's bed than to the window.

I already know how Kai is so there is a very likely change that he won't give much thought into where he sleeps so he will probably end up sleeping in the middle of the room.

Wait a minute... then that leaves Niko to sleep right next to the window, which is right next to me!

I then notice that I had just finished rinsing the conditioner out of my hair so I get out of the shower. I dried myself off and put on my shorts and an oversized hoodie. I washed my face and brushed my teeth, gathered my things, and went back to Akari's room.

My hair was still dripping wet but it doesn't take long to dry so I didn't bother to dry it off with my towel.

When I entered Akari's room, the sleeping locations were somehow exactly what I expected. Which meant that Niko was going to be sleeping next to me tonight! Eeeeee!

Now, it will be easier to talk to him tonight. Nothing could go wrong. Everything is now perfect.

Niko POV
I set up my sleeping bag and rummage through my luggage, trying to look for clothes to wear for tonight.

A pair of sweatpants and a t shirt should do. It's not all that cold out tonight so I should be fine in that weather. As I'm taking my clothes out of my bag, Sage sits down on her sleeping bag which is right next to mine.

How did I not notice that she was going to be sleeping next to me tonight? Oh boy. Hopefully she goes to sleep early so that I can go through with my plan.

She smiled at me and I gave her a half smile. I would've given her a full smile but that would've been a fake one.

My goal is to only take about five minutes in the shower so that I can lie down as soon as possible. The sooner that I rest, the better. I need to sort out all of the details.
