There was one drawer that contained nothing but a black skeleton key. At the end was a black button.

Clasping the key in between his slim, scarred fingers, he took it out of the drawer.

"I thought Q said there were a bunch of keys." he mumbled.

Matthew jumped as the sound of someone slamming their hands down appeared, followed by a loud Southern sounding, "No more crop circles!"

"Come on, Dad, you didn't let us finish the other ones!" From the raspy quality of the next voice, it was Ollie.

The quadruplets were almost named after their numbers. But an accident at five gave them their respective names.

First it was Ollie. Their dad had been trying to get rid of an oleander plant, and bought some special poison for it called Oleander Killer. The moment their dad turned his back, Ollie drank half the bottle and needed a trip to the emergency room. A week later, Flay drank some special brand of gas and was rushed to the hospital. Then it was Will drinking liquid plant food. Then Q with the liquid nitrogen. They were ultimately named after the branding of the various toxins. Like the gas was Flaminio brand. And the plant food was William brand. And the seller of the nitrogen was Aquilo.

Ollie's vocal cords were partially eaten away. Flay still has issues with eating. Will has permanent balance issues. And Q is permanently mute. Matthew made those gloves to translate his sign language into speech, using Flay's voice, as it was the least damaged, for the speaker.

"Boys, you've made far too many of them!" That was their father, who Matthew simply addressed as Pit.

Pit was well known for his spring green eyes, his accent, and the small cafe he owned. He had said that he moved to the town his kids were born in from the small family farm he grew up in, and met their mother there.

"Pit?" Matthew timidly asked. "Where are the other keys? Will wants a key sword."

Pit sighed, of course his son would want a key sword. "They're in the second drawer, baby. You were looking in the first."

Matthew nodded, sliding the skeleton key in his pocket.

He dug around in the said drawer, making sure nothing else was in there, before taking the whole thing out.

"You stay safe, Mattie, alright?" Pit ruffled the kid's wavy blond hair. "Don't hurt yourself welding."

"I will, Pit, thank you." he rushed upstairs, setting the drawer down on his bed.

I can start on Vinny's guiding mechanism. He took out a small device and powered it up, not wanting to make the key sword just yet. The display screen showed a rather detailed map.

Enter a new location. Matthew hit that button.

It looks like you don't know the location. Get a guide to put in the new location! Matthew selected the I am the guide option.

Start walking!

Matthew let himself out of the house, explaining to Pit that this was for Vincent. He seemed fine with it; he trusted his youngest kid.

Matthew stopped at the edge of the porch. About twenty feet ahead of him was bare dirt. Just beyond that was a vast wheat field. In that field were the quadruplets. They must have been building a tractor, because they were out there on something.

"Pit said no more crop circles!"

"Shut up, Snitch, we're claiming this field for the gays!" Flay yelled back.

Will lifted up a flagpole that had the rainbow flag attached to it.

Matthew laughed to himself, turning left on the dirt road and into the dark, drippy forest the road led to.

The mechanism automatically tracked the road, displaying the trees surrounding the path. He was so focused on the screen that he didn't even see the open well until he nearly fell in.

He might have fallen in, if someone hadn't grabbed his waist and yanked him back.
