It was a giant projector headed monstrosity. It was coated in ink. Wires ran out of the back of its head down around its humanoid body. Matthew could just barely see the beige color of the projector underneath the ink. On its stomach, it had a gaping mouth full of teeth that was ready to chew Matthew to bits.

Something about it was familiar. Maybe it was the rolled up pant sleeves and jacket sleeves. Maybe it was the speaker that was now implanted in its chest. Maybe it was the familiar eyes that dotted its inky body. Maybe it was the projector that matched the film reel Matthew had been threatened with. Then it clicked with him as the monster growled.

It was Norman.

Matthew swiftly sidestepped the creature as it swiped at him. Norman shrieked as some of the wires detached from his body and stabbed into the ground, aiming for Matthew.

The wire that came closest to him got stuck.

"Get on that one!" Lewis hissed.

Matthew nodded, scaling up the wire. Norman screamed, yanking the wire free.

The creature tried to shake him off as Matthew reached the back of the projector.

Taking a deep breath, he took out his hockey stick that was slung through the straps of his bag, and swung it right at Norman's neck.

The projector crumbled to dust as it fell. So did the rest of its body.

"That was close." Lewis murmured.

Matthew didn't respond, just stared at his hockey stick.

The end of it now had a long, black scythe blade sticking out of it. The blade pulsed a magenta color in time with his heartbeat.

"You did that, don't you know?" Lewis sat on his shoulder.

"I don't think that's the last of our struggles." Matthew whimpered.

"Be careful, now, dangerous things lurk here." Lewis warned as he burrowed back in the bag.

"Got it." Matthew pointed the flashlight back at the path. Sitting neatly on the earth, about twenty feet away from where he stood, was a small black button.

"There's the first one." he told himself, coming over to grab it.

Just as his fingers brushed against it, he had to yank his hand back as he was nearly stabbed by a great iron sword.
