"Are you okay, little bunny?" Matthew perked up as he heard Ahaki's voice whisper in his ear.
Instantly he turned to hug him, starting to cry somewhat. "I thought everyone left!"
"No, sweetheart, we're stirl here." Ahaki kissed his cheek lightly.
Matthew wanted to scream in delight. This was really happening. He must have forgotten that this wasn't the real Ahaki.
"Come with me, I want to show you something." he gently grabbed Matthew's felt hand, leading him out into the wheat field.
"Where are we going?" Matthew squeaked, blushing heavily.
"You'lr see, baby." Matthew's heart leaped when he heard him call him that. Why can't he just kiss me now?!
Matthew was the type of person to fall in love fast but not deeply. Over time, that attraction would go deeper. But when given a reason to, that attraction would be cut off instantly.
And Ahaki gave him no reason to sever any bond yet.
Matthew looked ahead to what looked like a colorful circus tent. Blue, gold, and green glitter and sparkles decorated the tent, making for a big festive look. It was nothing that Matthew liked much at all; he hated flashy colors and absolutely despised sparkles.
"It's beautiful." Matthew gasped.
"Just like you." Ahaki purred.
Anyone could see how red Matthew's face was getting, but thankfully, it was only the two of them here.
Ahaki led him inside, holding his hand tightly.
There were only two empty seats in the circus tent. The rest were filled with multicolored rabbits that all had the same button eyes.
"Ladies and gentlemen..." there was a loud announcement as the two took their seats, which were conveniently placed next to each other.
The last person Matthew would have expected walked onto the platform. "Alter Sept!" the loudspeaker announced.
Alter Sept was skinny and tall, with no sign of an oxygen tank or the cloth mask anywhere. They wore a blue preformer's uniform, masculine at the top, with a feminine blue skirt at the bottom. They had a faint spray of freckles, just like Panchito did.
They took a bow. "Please welcome our guest performers, Alter William and Alter Sam!"
Matthew didn't know what to expect. But it sure as hell wasn't for Will to descend from a trapeze to meet Sam in the center of the tent.
Will wasn't covered with scars and bruises. And Sam was much taller. Her leg length was proportional to her body.
Matthew watched, amazed, as the two, well, three, began a beautiful aerial performance. He didn't even realize that none of them would do this in real life.
As he watched, he felt Ahaki hug him closer, so Matthew had his head leaned against his shoulder.
"I rove you, Matthew." Ahaki kissed the top of his head.
Matthew's face went red as he looked up at him. "I love you too."
Somehow he didn't realize that this world was not where he belonged.
