We climbed the steps up towards the entrance of the tower. I counted about five hundred stairs in total. It took me about ten minutes to actually climb to the top.

I was feeling winded by the time I made it to the top.

Marina on the other hand was already at the top waiting for me. She looked like she had barely broke a sweat.

How she did that in that heavy clothing is beyond me.

We stood before the entrance to the tower. The gates were large and imposing, much like the tower itself. Though actually standing in front of the tower was unnerving as it was much larger up close than it had seemed from far away.

Looking up the top of the tower reached beyond the clouds. The architecture seemed ancient. Its form twisted and coiled upward like a serpent ascending upward. The base was so large it seemed like it was three times as large as my family's castle.

"Well you ready to go in or are we just going to keep staring at it?" Marina asked.

"Quit the jokes and come on," I replied.

We both pulled open one of the doors.
