Chapter 6

Lizzie

Sacramento, 2594

It isn't fair. Why did Ammy get to go and I don't; and why would I never see her again. Some stupid "Second chance at life." All of these were thoughts going through 7 year old Lizzie's mind. Her sister amethyst got "Accepted" into some stupid program. Lizzie was furious. Amathyst had hurt her foot yesterday and was barely able to walk to the bathroom, much less to the center of town!

What was worse, Amethyst didn't tell her any details. Lizzie was old enough! She could take it! If something was going to happen to her sister, she should know!

Her new guardian, Ms. Andrews, was the worst. She gave Lizzie a bedtime that was unacceptable. The most memorable hours of her life were after 7:30(which was her new bedtime). She always made Lizzie eat at least 4 cups of vegetables every day, and if Lizzie tried to talk to her, she always said it was quiet time. Whenever she asked when quiet time ended, Ms. Andrew's always said "7:30. And, it starts at 1:30." That was the time she got home from school.

Ms. Andrews was the worst.

Lizzie had to leave, but she didn't know how. But then she got an idea. Amethyst came to say goodbye and gave Lizzie a hug. Tears were in her eyes and Lizzy knew she was in both mental, and physical pain. Amethyst hobbled out of the room. Lizzy suddenly had an idea.

She would follow Amethyst, and become a stowaway.

It was pathetically easy. Amethyst had no idea Lizzie was following her, and Ms. Andrews thought she was at school. Amethyst hobbled down one street after another, so slow that Lizzie had to move almost in slow motion in order to keep pace with her. She got to main street and paused. She just stood there, waiting. What for? Lizzie had no idea. Amethyst kept looking at her watch.

Suddenly, a black limousine pulled up and stopped right in front of her. Amethyst got in. That must be it. Lizzie ran out of her cover behind a dumpster, opened the trunk and hopped in. She pulled the lever and the trunk closed. Her plan was successful. Now, she wouldn't have to leave her sister. Now, there was no more Ms. Andrews. Now, she could start a new life.
