June
CHESF base
A couple days passed idly by since the accident. Whatever Lizzie did to her head, it worked. She no longer heard Spectre's voice calling to her. Not being able to get fresh air bugged her. She currently sat on her bed reading a book. She wasn't really into it, she was just whiling away the hours. She heard a knock on the door.
June sat up. "Yes?"
"Hi." It was Lizzie. June walked to the door.
"Hey Liz, what's up?"
"I was just wondering, what is your favorite color?"
"Umm, I'm not sure. I think maybe dark green or turquoise."
"Okay, and what is your favorite flower?"
"Oh, that's easy. A fire lily. I think it's called the gloriosa superba or something."
"Okay, and what is your favorite food?"
"Steak. Definitely."
"What do you think is more romantic, candlelight dinner, or eat in?"
"Candlelight. Why are you asking me this?"
"Just 'cause. What do you think would be the funnest thing to do: bowling, mini golf, or movie."
"Bowling for sure."
"Alright, last question. What is your least favorite thing about the base?"
"The color scheme on the walls. It is all bleak gray. I have a few designs that I would like to paint on, but I don't think Glass would let me."
"Can I see those?"
"Sure." June sat up and grabbed her paper. It was sprawled with all sorts of colors, designs, words, and random pictures. It looked like alley graffiti. She handed it to Lizzie. "Here you go."
"Thanks. Can I keep this?"
"Sure. I got tired of looking at something I can't accomplish. At least now I can know that it is causing someone else happiness."
"Thank you! Alright that is all. See you!"
"Okay, bye." June smiled at the young girl as she walked out the door. "Well, that was strange." Was all she muttered to herself.
Just one day after the conversation, June heard another knock on the door. She was reading a romance book this time, and the girl was just about to get the guy. June got up off her bed and walked to the door. It slid open, and there Swipe stood in a dark green suit, holding a fire lily in his hands. June gasped. He was amazing.
His golden hair was slicked sideways in a close cropped way that made his magnificent blue eyes stand out. His face was brightened by a grin that hinted slightly of mischief. The suit hung onto his frame closely, emphasizing his muscular arms and legs.
"Hey," was all he said.
June just looked at him. He was outstanding.
"I get it. I'm amazing. You might be wondering why I am here in this suit, holding this flower. All of that will be answered in time, but first, I have something to show you. May I come in?"
June nodded and sidestepped as he walked in. He set the flower down. It was already in a pot with soil.
"Alright, close your eyes." She did as instructed. She heard footsteps, and felt his hands on her shoulders. He turned her around and pushed her forward gently. She resisted slightly. "It's okay. You can trust me." He led her out the door and into the hallway. He led her about twenty more steps, turned her, walked her ten more, and made her do a one-eighty. "And, open."
