"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" June was screaming. Lizzie liked June. She was nice. She played with her a lot. Lizzie was the first one to turn around, but Swipe was the first one to get back to the room. By the time Lizzie got there, Swipe was holding June in his arms and Glass had a worried look over. June screamed again.

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! OW!! OW!!" While Lizzie's ears were listening to the audible pain, her mind was delving into June's. The world around Lizzie collapsed into June's mindscape.

It was completely dark and empty. She had heard some scientists talking about Lizzie's ability to enter the thoughts of another, but she never actually thought she would be able to do it. The landscape around her was a void. Completely black though she could see. The ground was a flat gray plane that stretched out to infinite. This was June's mind, and it was struggling. Lizzie saw a bump off in the distance. She ran towards it. The bump was June's consciousness. It took her form. Standing over her was a dark, malevolent form screaming at her.

"COME TO ME!!"

June was curled in a ball, tears streaming down her face. She was cradling her ears and trying to block him out. She made no attempt to stop the form.

"COME TO ME!!"

"STOP IT!" Lizzie screamed. The form looked at her. It walked over and stood over the child. It raised its hand and swatted Lizzie away. Lizzie caught a little air and fell on her back about five feet away. Thankfully, the ground wasn't hard. The form walked back to its original post.

"COME TO-"

"NO!" Lizzie said defiantly. The form looked at her again.

"COME-"

NO!" If the form was going to scream, she would too.

"CO-"

"NO!! NO NO NO!!" All at once, the form bent space and appeared in front of her. It was getting increased power. It picked Lizzie up and held her one handed by the throat. Lizzie struggled but could not break his iron grip. It was choking her. She struggled for breath. But then she thought of something. If this is a mindscape, the rules and laws of the world don't apply here. She looked around at the darkness. Her mind is too far gone though. He has too much power. Lizzie was about to give up all hope when she remembered a movie she had overheard the rest of the group watching. The protagonists goal was to plant ideas in the mind of a subject while they were dreaming. In the dream, they had a lot of power, but at the end, he learned he had power there too. She was half the mind here. She had half the power.

Lizzies was still struggling for breath. The edges around her vision were darkening. Then suddenly, out of sheer force of effort, the darkness dissipated. Instead of the eternal darkness, it was dawn. Not bright dawn, but it was dawn nonetheless. June's consciousness was sitting up and looking at Lizzie in complete awe. Her eyes were glazed over and far away, but she knew that June was feeding her power, however small that power might be. The shadow came running at her. Lizzie braced herself for impact, but the shadow stopped suddenly and black fire shot out of its hands. Lizzie harnessed the inner power and shot her own beam of energy. It was a blaze of light in the dark world. The energy was a brilliant white that faded into a sparkly gold at the edges. The beams collided and the world started shaking.

Lizzie knew that both beams were powerful, and that they weren't going to run out of power anytime soon. It would be a draw. The shadow seemed to recognize this too. Simultaneously, the beams stopped and shadow charged her again. It became a fiery ball of darkness, ready to vaporize her when it touched. Lizzie summoned all of her inner powers and enshrouded herself in the same white and gold energy as before. They clashed, both balls of energy exploding brilliantly against each other. The shadow grunted, trying to overtake her. Lizzie screamed in defiance and pushed with all her energy. The creature's energy faltered, and then the shield completely broke. The shadow let out a scream as Lizzie's energy overtook it. The being vaporized and Lizzie's energy dissipated. The ground started violently shaking. Lizzie ran to June and cradled her in her arms. June was unconscious. Off in the distance, Lizzie could see the bleak gray ground cracking and falling into oblivion. June's mindscape was collapsing.
