Chapter 46: Not Ready Yet

"Is she okay?" Meg asked.

"What happened?" Con Con said

"I don't know" Dick replied, "she was crying and upset when she ran into me and then she just started screaming about chanting? Did you guys hear anything?"

"No" Kal said.

"Check her pulse" Liz said

"It's still beating." Dick replied.

"She sounded like she was in a lot of pain..." Wally said.

"But there's no physical markings" Arti said. Zatanna dis a spell and a light shined in her hand. The fair seemed to shut off just like me. The only light before was from the moon above. I've been trying to get their attention away from me onto ME, but they didn't seem to see me or notice me at all.

"Let's get her back to Mount Justice," Dick said lifting me up in his arms.

"You aren't going anywhere" A voice shot out from across. I turned to look in the direction. A man came out from the shadow of a booth. He wasn't that older than any of us. He was probably in his early twenties at the most. He had his brown hair cut short and dark brown eyes. Behind him, I could see more silhouettes. Beside him stood this monster like shadow dog. It had these gleaming red eyes and sharp teeth. In the man's hand, he held a white crystal ball. It looked familiar for a moment. An image flashed over my mind of a man standing over a woman's body holding up the sphere. But the mist escaping the woman went to the Gem instead of the ball.

'it's a spirit sphere' a woman's voice broke through my confused thoughts, 'we use those in our planet when a loved one dies and we fear that something might disrupt their passage to the other side, but I don't think that was his intention and the gem noticed that...and that's when it decided to call my soul to it.'

I took a step back. Why didn't I think of it before? I'm outside of my body. The others can't see me. I'm a ghost. And if what I'm remembering is right, then I can't be near that ball. I hid behind Dick. I don't know why. Maybe it was because he was holding my body or maybe because I always felt safest around him.

"Did you do this?" Dick said. Anger was clear in his voice.

"I can't take the credit for this" He smiled, "No. This is the work of her guardians."

"Guardians?" Wally said, "who are they?"

"You bunch really are clueless aren't you?" He smirked, "you've fought them before. The guys in the weird medieval armor? Ring any bells?" Everyone's expressions seemed to change as if they were all having a conversation. That's when it hit me. They were telepathically communicating. Robin handed my body over to Meg. I felt someone looking at me. I turned to see that I locked eyes with the man. "Now, Alejandra Rose Pierce, are you going to go with the easy way or the hard way?"

"Whatever business you have with her, you're going to have handle it with us" Dick said. Zatanna said another spell and the Team were now in the hero outfits. The man waited for me to say something, but I stayed quiet.
