Chapter 36: Why me?

I opened my eyes. I didn't have to move to know how sore my body was. A crack of sunlight peeked through from the crack in the window. I saw that the room window had a bunch of vases full of flowers and cards. I looked around the room to notice that there were a bunch people here that I didn't even know, but they were all asleep. I noticed one beside my feet. He had his head resting on his crossed arms covering his arms. I was sure it was Robin, but he wasn't wearing his uniform. I looked over at the long couch to see the guy from last night sitting, but his head was leaned against his knuckles as he slept. There was a girl with straight brown hair next to him wearing a pink jacket over a white blouse and a pink skirt. She looked like the girl from last night minus the green skin. Then there was a blonde beside her with her hair up in a ponytail. She had a maroon shirt with a brown jacket over and black jeans. She was leaning against a red headed boy who had freckles across his face. The boy had an arm around her as they slept. I looked at these strangers in my room. They looked terrible so I could only assume some homeless people snuck in to my room. But I highly doubted that, so I went to the next logical reason. They came to the wrong room. It was weird though. For the first time, I feel okay. I'm surrounded by strangers and I feel okay...I really did hit my head hard or lost too much blood or something. I thought about the last time I got abducted. I was stuck in the hospital two days with my damaged feet and the only visitors I had were Nana, Ms. Diana, and Manny, so seeing a room crowded of people made me happy. Although, I'm still stuck between them being homeless and pretending to know me or they mistook the room. I decided to poke Robin and awake him. My finger was just inches from his head when a hand shot up and caught it. Robin lifted his head to look at me and the dark glasses he had on drooped showing his piercing blue eyes. My eyes widened when I recognized his face automatically. I looked at him as I struggled to process everything in my head. He rubbed his eyes sleepily.

"You're awake" He said with a lazy smile playing on his lips. He didn't seem that worried about the fact that I saw his identity. Maybe He didn't realize?

"Dick...you're Robin?" I said.

"Yeah" He said looking at me curiously not even trying to cover his tracks.

"Ew!" I heard two voices shout right as the blonde haired girl and red haired boy jumped off the couch as Robin fixed his glasses.

"Next time you put an arm on me! I'll break it!" The girl shouted.

"Like I'd want to!" the boy shouted back, "and you were the one leaning on me!"

"Alejandra, you're awake!" The other girl said getting off the couch and rushing over. She had a smile on her face like she was genuinely happy for me. The boy from last night followed her over.

"Uh...yeah" I replied looking at them confused.

"How are you feeling?" The blonde haired girl asked as she pulled away her glare from the red head to look at me.

"Like I've been stabbed" I joked as I shrugged immediately regretting it when I felt the pain. They seemed to lighten up a bit more with my joke, but I felt a little uncomfortable with everyone surrounding the bed and not knowing a single one of them...well except Dick. "Okay, I'm sorry...but I have to ask...who are you?" I looked at them all. They all looked at me eyes wide and then at each other. They stayed quiet, but they're facial expressions kept changing like if they were having a conversation.
