Episode 25: Usual Suspects

Alejandra's P.O.V.

She hates me. She completely hates me. In training when Black Canary pairs us together, she actually aims for pain. I can't even bring myself to hurt her so all I could do was dodge. She caught me off guard once and managed to knock me on my feet. In training, once you knock someone down that's it. That's the end of the match. But she didn't. She threw a punch toward me, but I quickly rolled to the side and her fist made impact with the platform. The impact was so loud that everyone stopped in their training. I just looked at Liz and I could see the anger in her eyes. Black Canary walked over to us and took Liz away. By the sound of her voice, Liz was in for it. Later, we all found out that Liz damaged her hand from the punch she made with the platform. I wanted to heal it, but she won't even let me even say two words to her unless it's about a mission we're going to go on. If I'm on one side of the room, she'd go to the other. The team wasn't sure what to do when the both of us we're around. If they went with me, it was like they were picking a side. So they kind of just stayed in the center in neutral territory. D, Aetius, and Caderyn would stand beside me, but I'd force them to go in the center because it wasn't fair that I had them and Liz had no one. I wasn't in Mount Justice right now. I was in Corcellion. I was standing in a circle of stones. I felt a rush go through me as energy transferred to me and went into the stones. The barrier around Corcellion gave off a purple light before going invisible again. I went out of the circle. Aetius and Caderyn stepped up to me.

"So do you guys have any idea why I can release as much energy as I want in that circle thing but when it comes to out here, it's back to being dormant?" I asked, "I mean is there some sort of forcing-energy-out-of-gem spell in there that I don't know about?"

"It's not the Heart blocking you from using your abilities" Aetius replied as we began walking to Corcellion, "it's you."

"What do you mean it's me?" I said looking at him confused, "why would I make myself powerless?"

"Maybe because you don't want to accidentally cause a storm" Caderyn replied, "you subconsciously figured out how to bind the energy of the Heart and how to unlock it. You just haven't realized it."

"I'm still lost" I replied.

"Because you know what danger Corcellion would be in without the energy of the Heart, you unbind it while in that circle" Aetius replied, "it's also why you still have your ability to heal. You know how dangerous being a hero is for your friends, so you kept the one ability that can help save them."

"Well then how do I unbind them?" I asked.

"You have to figure out the reason they were bound in the first place" Caderyn replied.

"Well I don't know the reason!" I complained, "they just up and vanished all of a sudden!"

"It's okay" Aetius said putting a hand on her shoulder, "we'll help figure it out."

I made a quick visit to the King and the kingdom before we returned home. Today was a special day after all. It was the initiation of Hotshot into the League. Everyone was meeting in the Hall of Justice to watch the initiation and we were running really late. We entered as I watched D elbow Kid Flash.

"Way to keep a secret genius" I heard him mutter. Meg and S.B. were sitting on the couches. D, K.F., Kal, and a girl I didn't recognize stood a little behind.

"Hey, she's on the team now right?!" Wally retorted.

"Look who decided to show up" Arti smiled turning from the door swooshing closed. She and Zatanna were standing up front toward the front closer to the screen.
