GERARD'S POV
I don't remember falling asleep in the fetal position on the floor. But, I did.
My eyes open and I immidatly felt pain on my back and knees. I sit up and try to stretch every part of my body.
When I come to my sense I realise, I can't hear anything. There's no noise. No TV, no loud shouting, nothing.
I stand up and look through our house. No one. I ended up finding a sticky note on our fridge.
Clean up the house for me while I'm gone. I'll be back at two pm.
Bert
I sigh. Great.
~
I've had to clean the house alone for so long that I now have a system. I can get the house cleaned in two hours now.
So, now I have all this freetime. It's only twelve pm, I can do whatever I want for the next two hours.
TV? No. Draw? Bert will kill me if he sees my drawing materials out, so no. Read? There's no books. A walk? Yeah, a walk sounds nice.
I slip on my shoes and make my way out of the house.
I immediatly know where I'm gonna walk. The skate park.
It has become a comfort place. A place that makes me feel safe.
~
I immediatly see Frank when I enter the skate park. How often is he here?
"Hey Gee!" Frank waved and gestured to come to where he is.
It looks like Frank is alone.
"We are just always in the same place at the same time." Frank says as he hops on his board.
"Seems like it. Learned anything new?" I ask as I sit on the concrete.
"Yeah, I've been trying to get my hospital flip down." Frank says as he mindlessly rolls around.
"A hospital flip?" I ask. I've never heard of such a thing.
"Hospital flip is just a cool name. It's pretty much just a kick flip with a late shove-it." Frank states.
"I have literally no idea what any of those words mean." I say with a smile.
"I'll need to teach you the skateboard language." Frank says with a chuckle.
Frank stops his board, "So, a kick flip is pretty simple."
I watch as Frank slightly squats on his board, pops the board, slides his foot to the top, lets the board spin and lands with it up right.
"Pretty simple." Frank says. Pretty simple my ass.
"And a shove-it looks like this."
Frank squats ontop of his baord like he previously did, popped the board up, slid his foot to the top, but this time the board twirled so when he landed on it again it was facing the opposite direction.
"So when you put them together it looks like this."
Frank squats on the board, pops it into the air and slides his foot up, the board spins like it did during the kick flip, but before it lands Frank places his foot against the wheels so it would twirl in the air like it did with the shove-it. He landed effortlessly.
"That was a lot to take in. But, I'm still impressed." I say with a smile.
It's the truth. I'm honestly very impressed with Frank's talent.
"I'm glad to hear that." Frank effortlessly drops into the concrete bowl and starts to do tricks I can't even explain.
Frank got slightly more momentum than he expected, so when he popped out of the bowl he fell knees first right in front of me.
"Impressed now?" Frank smiles.
Our faces are so close, if we were closer our lips could touch.
"Very." I can feel Frank's breath against my nose.
I've always known Frank's eyes were pretty. But, seeing them up close was something different. They hold so much emotion, so much color that it's almost overwhelming. They're so enchanting that it's hard to put into words.
"You have beautiful eyes." Frank whispers.
I guess he was thinking the same thing I was.
"I was about to say the same thing." I mutter.
"Then say it." Frank states.
"Your eyes are so colorful, they're just so pleasent to look at." I say.
"Thank you."
I hear a shitty car drive past the skate park. I turn my head and see a tiny black car. Bert's tiny black car.
"Fuck." I start to get up as fast as I can.
"Are you okay?" Frank asks.
"Uh... Yeah, I need to go like right now. I'll see you later." I immidatly start running to my house. I can hear Frank shout a goodbye as I leave.
