"Honey, I'm home!" Gerard knows it's a good idea to not respond.
If he does the classic run up to Bert and give him a hug, Bert will push him off. If he says hello, Bert will tell him to shut the fuck up. If he smiles and waves Bert will tell him that his smile is ugly. So, it's better to just shut up.
"No response? Typical. Get me a beer." Bert flops onto their greasy brown couch. Cum stains cover the fabric, it used to be brand new, no holes, no cigarette burns, now it's ugly. Everything in this damn house is ugly.
Gerard immediatly stands up and calmly walked to the kitchen.
I just want to get out of here, I don't deserve this... Or do I? Gerard thinks to himself.
"Hurry up, bitch! I don't have all day." Bert yells.
That's a lie, Bert does have all day. He goes to work at five am, gets home at 3 pm. Then, he lays on their couch and at night... That's a different story to tell.
Gerard gently hands Bert his beer, "Get out of here. I don't feel like looking at you today." Gerard sighs in relief. He grabs his coat, slips on his shoes, and pratically runs out of the house.
Gerard wishes he could call this house his home. But, when that grease ball is in his house, it will never be a home.
