Chapter 48

Cindy was inviting me over to her home. It has been so long since I was out with my friends so I am actually very excited. We decided to ditch our partners and have time to ourselves.

Of course, Logan wasn't happy about it. He was making fuss and keep trying to convince me to stay with him. He was good at trying to convince me. But too bad for him, he need to understand we need to spend time away from each other too sometimes. That's what healthy  relationship is right? We can't always be dependent on each other.

"Okay Anna, I know what we are going to do today"

"What are we building today Phineas" I joked

"We are going to a haunted house Ferb" She plays along.

"Nuh huh. Are you crazy? I don't play with demons"

"Listen, you saw the blue house 5 houses away?"

"Yes"

"A nurse died there and I was told her spirit won't leave the house. Just a month ago someone moved in and they stayed only for two weeks then they moved out. I bet it's the ghost scaring them away"

"That is so creepy!"

"I know right. That is why we are going to explore today"

"Again, are you crazy? I have heard of this before. The grudge remember?"

She scoffs, "are you scared?"

"No. But I don't wana take risk"

"Come onnnn Anna, it will be fun and memorable. We will bring holy water and everything"

"Where did you get the holy water from?"

"Well. I put some water in a small glass. Prayed. Then label it"

"You know that's not how it works right?" I laugh

"That's why we are going to experiment. I am not scared so Don't worry"

She took me to the said house, it looks like a normal house only. My heart pounds. Yea I am a bit scared. I followed Cindy. She opened the door and I peeked from behind her to see what a mess the inside was. Broken woods, paper, dust etc.

"What now?" I whispered.

"Just follow me and don't be scared"

Easy to say!

We explore a bit, the longer we are in there, the more it felt normal. I was starting to relax. We enter an empty room that has poster of some bands we Don't know.

"See? Told you it wouldn't be so bad. There isn't anything to be scared of" She comforts me once more.

Creek!

My skin crawl on hearing the sound of door creaking, my head spun to the direction of the other room opposite to one we are in, trying to see what happened.

I look back at Cindy to ask her if she heard that too, only to see she wasn't there in the same spot anymore!

I look at the window to my left to see her already half way out. Her right leg on the outside, her left still on the inside. And she looked guilty as hell.

I put my hands on my waist and looked pointedly at her, "seriously?"

She smile sheepishly, "would you believe if I said the wind blew me out?"

I walk over, lift her other leg and push her out so she fell on her ass.

"Ow!"

"You deserve that. If it was some horror movie, you are so ditching me"
