Chapter 32

Jacob's gaze was fixed on me, jaws clenching while I work on our project.

I ignored him and keep on typing but for the 3rd time he decide to nudge me with his long legs under the table as he sit across of me.

Great, this is what I get for arriving early? Where are the others.

The 4th time Jack nudge me I sigh and look at me, "What?" I try to sound calm as much as possible,

"Why did you ignore me yesterday?"

"What?"

"You didn't even reply me"

Okie, someone's getting a bit clingy. But Perfect.

"I didn't check my phone" I said in a monotone.

"No you didn't. It's because you were fucking him isn't it" he hissed.

"What about you?" I snap back, "Don't tell me you think of me while you were fucking Mary"

He doesn't respond.

I was pissed because he dare get jealous and snap at me when he has no right but he probably thinks I am jealous too by now.

"Look, Jacob. We can't do this" I said in a soft voice so I'd sound defeated, "We are both dating other people now, let's not make it complicated or mess it up. Let's forget everything, okay?"

"Anna I...I know you feel-"

"Hey Sorry I'm late" Benjamin says walking over to us,

Oh no no no. Was Jacob trying to say what I think he was trying to?

Benjamin settle beside Jake.

I study Jake expression to see that whatever was on his mind earlier was gone.

Nooo, I was close.

Calm down, Anna. Suspense makes it more exciting right? At least that's what Logan taught me....

I shouldn't be thinking of Logan.

"It's okay, we were just early. And look Alaric is also coming"

"Good evening" he greets us and sits beside me.

He was followed by Debbie who arrived minute later, as soon as she reach us, she basically push Benjamin as she settle right between him and Jake who look uncomfortable as hell.

"I bought cappuccino for you Jackie" She says in a dramatic voice making me cringe a bit. And so did Jake. He even had to send me a 'help me' look.

"Jake doesn't like Cappuccino" Yeah, I know, he's that weird.

"Oh" Her face fell.

"Now that we are all here, let's get started?"

They all nod.

"Did you guys find anything on your part?"

"No new discovery really but I got my report, let me email you so you'll put them together" Alaric typed into his tablet and then send me.

"Okay, thanks, I'll read them tonight  but I don't know when I will be done putting them all together"

"I have sent mine" Benjamin inserts.

"Hmm...okay found it"

"And here's ours" Debbie says cheerfully.

She handles me files. Two files, making me frown.  When I read the title I see that the other one was Jake's part.
