POV: Brooke

"Hell Above" rang out and the place went insane. The lights were incredible and everyone sang along to the song. I've never felt so safe or at home except for this moment. I could tell Nat felt the same way. We jumped up and down and knew every word. No high could ever compare to this moment right here. It was there first song and our first moment seeing them live; again there could be no other place where I felt at home. The song soon ended and they stopped for a minute or two but it felt like forever. Vic then came back with an acoustic guitar. He then said he needed to pick a girl out of the audience to get up one stage. Two girls actually jumped over the barricade; good thing there was security. I roused my hand up high hoping he might see him. I knew not to get my hopes up too high.

He then point in my direction and sang out, "Her, the short blond with the cool nose piercing." I looked behind me to see who he was talking about then it hit me. He was talking about ME! I just got the piercing not even five days before the show and I still seem to forget that I had it. People moved a little out of my way so I could reach the guards at the front of the stage. My knees where shaking and I could still tell my eyes were puffy from "Low." I was scared that people might judge me so I tried to clean up my face as much as I could before reaching the front. It was only three steps away but I still tried.

The guard helped me over the barricade and onto stage. I couldn't believe Vic picked me. Out of all these pretty girls he picked little miss ordinary with the last name no one knew how to say. He smile this huge dorky grinned and I couldn't help but do the same. He pulled me into a colossal hug. He then asked, "So what's your name name beautiful?"

"Brooke," I answered timidly.

"That's a cute name that you just don't seem to hear that often," He smiled at me.

"Thank you," I replied in a low voice.

He then sang,"Well Brooke, I'm going to sing you a song. Are you okay with that?"

"Sounds awesome," I proclaimed.

Vic then starting singing "Bulletproof Love." I sat on a platform they had set up and I couldn't help but feel amazing and special after having this bad of a day. Vic made me feel special and he didn't even know my last name. He started off singing to me and only me then went to the center of the stage and sang to the whole venue. He kept glancing over and smiling at me. He had the cutest and dorkiest smile ever. It felt weird having him smile at me like that. Yeah guys smiled at me but it didn't feel like this. It wasn't butterflies like a child but it was something new and different. I kept smiling back at him with this soft smiling I somehow didn't break and make this ugly all teeth smile.

After he finished the song he came over to me and hugged me again. That's when he looked down at my arms and saw the faint scars. He pulled me in close and hugged tighter then before. He made a quick glance to the crowd and walked me quickly off stage. He said in a rushed voice,"Okay, I can't really talk to you right know about these but I promise to after the show. These guys will take care of you and get you whatever you want while I'm on stage."

"Okay, cool," I replied trying not to be too shocked.

I looked at the two guys that were standing near me. One was a tall lanky kid with a sleeve of tattoos. The other was tall as well but not as lanky; more muscular and intimidating. I felt so nervous and couldn't talk. The lanky one said his name was Conner. I shocked his hand and the other guy waved saying his name was Sam. I asked Conner if he could get Nat back here since we came together and everything. He nodded his head and went to talk to security real quick. He came back with a guard in less then two minutes and the guard asked for a description of what Nat looked like. After I told them they both were off. It was just me and Sam now and I could tell we both felt awkward. He asked me if i wanted something to drink. I said an energy drink was good. He was off and I was alone. This finally gave me time to think about what just had happened.
