Keep Holding On

Chapter 1

When Meredith got home she ran to her room. She jumped into her bed and cried into her pillow. She couldn't believe Derek picked Addison. She felt foolish and said to herself, "Of course he didn't want me. I am nothing compared to her. I am just a slutty intern." But then she heard a knock at her bedroom door.
"Not now!" She screamed.
"Mer, c'mon let me in." Said a soft voice.
"Not now Cris." She said.
"Mer I'm here for you. If you ever need anything I am here for you." She said before leaving.
Meredith decided to go to bed even though she really wanted to head to Joes and get drunk.

When she woke up she hit her alarm and got up. She went to go take a shower but then remembered she had to be at work in 20 minutes. She quickly got her keys and ran to the car. When she parked her car in the parking lot, she saw Derek and Addison walk in together. She ducked down in her seat as a tear fell from her face. She waited about 5 minutes so she could collect herself before entering the building. She knew she was going to get stares and she simply wanted to go home. She got out of her car and walked to the entrance. She quickly ran to the intern locker room and changed into her scrubs.

Dr. Bailey walked in and said, "Yang you're with Burke, O'Malley you're with Montgomery-Shepherd, Karev you're in the pit, Stevens you're in the clinic and Grey you are with Shepherd."
Meredith gave doctor Bailey a look. Dr. Bailey then said, "Take it up with him, he requested for you."

Meredith took a deep breath while trying to find Derek. There he was, at the end of the hall talking to his wife. He gave Addison a quick peck on the cheek and saw Mer at the end of the hallway with tears in her eyes. She quickly turned back and ran into the bathroom. Derek ran down the hall and followed her to the door of the bathroom.

"Mer, come out please." He begged.
"It's Dr. Grey to you." She said as she came out of the bathroom wiping a tear from her face.
"Ok Dr. Grey, we have to talk." He said in his McDreamy voice.
"I will only be talking about professional things with you Dr. Shepherd. I will not talk about my personal life with you." She said while grabbing the chart from his hand.

When Merediths shift ended she headed to Joes bar since she wasn't on call that night.
When Joe saw her walk in, her poured a shot of tequila without her even asking. The rest of the night was a blur, all she could remember was her taking shots again and again. That's until Derek and Addison walked in together holding hands. Barf... no literally. Meredith barfed all over the floor. She looked up and her face turned red as Addison looked at her with a pity look. Joe rubbed Merediths back and called a cab for her. As she was walking out Derek grabbed her arm. She quickly pushed him off and said, "Piss off."
"What?" He asked.
"I SAID PISS OFF!" She yelled back at him.
The whole bar looked over at her as she stumbled out of the bar. Derek was in shock, he had never seen her act like that.
