Keep Holding On

Chapter 2

When Meredith woke up she had a pounding headache. She couldn't remember what happened last night, she doesn't even remember how she got home. She looked at the time and realized that she should get ready for work. She quickly hopped into the shower, blow dried her hair and put some makeup on. When she head downstairs she saw Izzie and George in the kitchen talking about something.

"Morning Mer." George said smiling at Mer.
"Morning guys."
"Here Mer, I made you some coffee." Izzie said while handing Mer her coffee.
"Thanks Izzie." Mer said heading out the door.

When Mer walked in the hospital all eyes were on her. All the nurses were whispering and pointing at her. She walked into the intern locker room confused. That's when Cristina ran up to her and said,
"Mer are you ok?!"
"Why wouldn't I be okay?" She said confused.
That's when she heard the other interns behind her saying, "I heard she had sex with him just so she can get a head in surgeries."
"Really I heard she fell in love with him and went totally crazy when he stayed with his wife."

"Oh my god." Mer said under her breathe while running out of the locker room looking down with tears in her eyes. But then she ran into something.
"Where do you think your going?"
She looked up and saw Dr. Bailey giving her "look."
"Dr. Bailey I need to go. They found out about me and Dr. Shepherd." She said with tears falling from her face.
"I am sorry Grey but you need to work. How bout I put you on Burkes service instead of Dr. Shepherds."
"Thanks Dr. Bailey."

While Mer was doing charts Derek saw her and all the looks she was getting. He heard about how the news got out from Addison earlier when she told him a intern asked what it was like to have a husband screwing an intern.

As Derek was walking towards her to see how she was, Dr. Bailey stopped him and said,
"Where do you think you're going."
"I'm going to check on her, she looks pale and I can tell she's not in it today." He said it in a concerned voice.
"Of course she's not okay, she's a human traffic accident and everyone is stopping to look at the damage. She is embarrassed and now all the interns hate her. I suggest you turn the other way before they hate her even more." She said while looking at poor Dr. Grey.

While Mer was leaving the hospital she saw Derek running towards her. She tried to ignore him and starting walking to her car.

"Meredith! I mean Dr. Grey!"
"Dr. Shepherd I am heading home for then night and I am not on call. If you are here to talk about my personal life I suggest you walk away."
"Meredith please." He said in a sad tone.
"Don't Meredith please me. You hurt me in ways I never thought a person could get hurt in. I trusted you and told you everything. I thought you told me everything, but you left out a big thing about you. You didn't tell me you had a wife. So please leave me the hell alone! AND STAY AWAY FROM ME!"

She got in her car and drove away from the hospital. Derek stood in the parking lot and thought, fine she doesn't want to be professional. I'll show her how it feels to be yelled at and not listened to.
