Chapter 19

3 and a half months later

"Mer are you finally going to tell people about your pregnancy?" Derek asked while making the bed.

Meredith had been keeping her pregnancy a secret because she was scared that she was going to lose the baby with all the stress.

"Today is your last day of you first semester and you start work tomorrow," he added.

"Technically I'm only doing charts tomorrow. Wyatt doesn't want me in a OR till I can prove I can be in one around all the scalpels." Meredith said while getting changed.

"What do you want for breakfast?" Derek asked.

"Hmmmm maybe Mac and cheese with pickles," she said while licking her lips.

The first trimester for her had mostly been filled with weird cravings and morning sickness that wasn't only in the morning.

"Really? Why don't I make you like a fruit bowl or something?" Derek asked.

"No Derek I want Mac and cheese with pickles," she said while leaving the bedroom.

Meredith woke up in the middle of the night nauseous. She quickly ran into the bathroom and threw up in the toilet.

Derek heard her and ran into the bathroom. While she was throwing up he grabbed her hair, rubbed her back and said "Get it all out, it's okay." 

When she lifted her head from the toilet tears fell from her face.

"At least you can go to work in the morning," he said while pulling her in for a hug.

When Derek woke up he saw that Meredith wasn't in bed. He assumed she was in the bathroom throwing up or peeing.

So he walked to the bathroom and to his surprise it was empty.

He walked downstairs and saw Meredith watching TV while eating cereal.

"Morning, sorry did I wake you?" She asked.

"No I have a early shift today," he said back. "Yeah me too, at 5 right?" She then asked.

"Yeah," he said while sitting beside her. "Then we can carpool," she said while smiling.

When they got to the hospital all eyes were on Meredith. No one had really seen her since her suicide attempt.

She walked into the intern locker room and all eyes were staring right at her. She quickly walked up to her friends and said,

"I'm pregnant."

They all looked at her and then pulled her in for a hug.

"Congrats Mer," Alex said.

All the other interns jaws just dropped.

While Mer was walking down the hall all eyes were on her, once again. But for a different reason.

She knew that gossip around the hospital spread like a virus. But not this fast.

Everyone was looking at her and were  whispering to their friends.

That's when she snapped,

"Yes, I am the girl who dated an attending who was married. BEFORE I knew he was married. Yes, I am the girl who then tried to kill herself. And YES, I did go home and I did get pregnant. I am happy so please STOP STARING AT ME!"

That's until she felt blood dripping from her legs. She looked down and there was a puddle of blood below her. She looked back up and saw Derek running towards her at the end of the hallway.

That's it for this chapter. Sorry it's short and sorry I haven't been updating that much. I've been really busy with school.
