Chapter 17

2 weeks later

"Wake up Mer, we have to clean the house for my mom, she's coming today," Derek said.

"I'm tired and I don't feel good," Mer said back.

Derek walked up to her and felt her forehead and said, "You don't feel warm."

"Ok I'll getting up," Mer said while getting out of bed.

5 hours later

"Mer! Come on we're going to be late! It's a 40 minute drive!" Derek yelled from downstairs.

"Coming," Mer yelled back.

They got in the car and drove to the airport. While they were driving Meredith said, "Derek pull over right now."

"What why? We are almost there," Derek said back bopping his head to the beat of the song. "I mean it, pull over!" She yelled.

Derek pulled over and Meredith quickly got out of the car and threw up on the side of the road.

When she got back in the car Derek said "Mer are you okay?"

"Yeah just motion sickness I guess," she said while buckling up.

When they got to the airport they saw Dereks mom waiting for them by her gate. When Dereks mom saw them she dropped all her bags and ran up to them.

"Derek!" She said as she kissed him on the cheek. "Hey mom," he said back.

"And you must be Meredith," she said pulling Meredith in for a hug.

"Hi! It's very nice to meet you Mrs. Shepherd," Meredith said. "Please call me Carolyn."

As they drove home Carolyn said, "I'll make some dinner when we get home. You just need to quickly stop at a store so I can buy the ingredients."

When they got home Carolyn went straight to the kitchen and Meredith went straight upstairs.

She felt mentally and physically drained. Derek saw her go upstairs and decided to follow her.

"Hey are you okay?" He asked. "I feel like shit," she said back.

He went up to her and hugged her. "You can go to bed my mom would completely understand," he said.

"No it's ok," she said while releasing herself from the hug.

"Dinners ready!" Carolyn yelled.

"Coming mom!" Derek said while getting off the couch with Meredith.

When they walked into the kitchen Meredith quickly ran to the bathroom and threw up.

Carolyn looked at Derek and said, "Derek.... what did you do?"

"What do you mean?" He asked confused. "She looks and feels sick, I could tell since I've gotten her and she obviously has thrown up more then once today. And not to mention her skin is glowing," Carolyn said while staring at him straight in the eye.

"You aren't suggesting..."
