Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid and her Halfbreed Bother

Chapter 4: Drinking

The sun shined brightly up in the sky; sparse clouds dotted in the soft blue background. Wind gently blew through threw treetops, the temperature outside just right to lay out and soak in the bounties the world had to offer...and I was stuck inside a stuff office staring at screen, the smell of coffee lingering from my mug as sat back in my chair.

F/N: God, I hate this job.

I groaned, staring at what I typed away on my computer. The boss had dropped by a metric ton of things to get done by the end of the day, turning most of my mind into pure drone mode. Typing away endlessly eyes affixed to the screen for hours on end. The only reprieve being that of my sister and I's work buddy as he leaned back in his chair too.

Takiya: Hey Kobayashi's, you got a minute?

Kobayashi: Yeah, what is it, Takiya?

F/N: If its help, I can't offer any with the crap dumped on me today.

I said, draining the last of my coffee down as he spoke, his words widening my eyes and grabbing my full attention. 

Takiya: What to grab a drink later?

Kobayashi: Sure, but just one round tonight.

F/N: Please, we both know that's a lie. I on the other hand are very much down, especially after what todays load.

My sister just glared at me before returning to work, as did I and Takiya. Slaving away like the good blue-collar workers we were, the hours all seemed to mush together into an endless buzz of key typing. However, as the sun set over the skyline and the streetlights began to pop on in the streets below, the three of us finally pulled on our coats and left. To which, I sighed as a certain dragon stood outside the entrance to our office, her smile growing wide as we stepped out.

Takiya: What's with that girl staring us down? Do you know her?

F/N: Yes, yes we do.

I said, trailing off as Tohru hid her angry mood behind a convincing smile while she introduced herself to Takiya.

Tohru: Hi, I'm Tohru Kobayashi, Ms. and Mr. Kobayashi's new maid, their livid maid, their violent livid maid.

Takiya just smiled with a small "hm" as he looked at us. My sister giving our friend a shrug as she spoke.

Kobayashi: Well, it's our turn to take care of the special cousin.

F/N: Yeah, you get used to her quirks, after a while.

I muttered, Takiya nodding as he turned back and introduced himself proper. 

Takiya: Well, I'm Makoto Takiya, I work with your cousins. It's nice to meet you.

Tohru: And it's nice to meet you, Mr. Takiya.

She said through gritted teeth as Takiya nodded and gestured down the street.

Takiya: Care to join us for drinks?

F/N: I'm not sure that-

Tohru: I'd love to.

She said with a bright smile. Though the aura she put off sung a very different toon. So with that, we headed off to the local water hole. Takiya and my sister taking the lead as I lagged behind with Tohru. The dragon's eyes lasered in on Takiya as she spoke with a small Knash of her teeth. 

Tohru: Once this is over, I'll-

F/N: Nope.

Tohru: But he cou-

F/N: Nope.

Tohru: You're no fun. Are you going to be like this all night?

She said, puffing out her cheeks as I sighed while shaking my head.
