Unsettled, despite the calm day outside, the soft smell of tea brewing in the kitchen, it is all I felt wrong deep within my mind. With months of peace regarding my slumber and far more pleasant dreams since Tohru and I's relationship became what it is now, last night's aberration was...something else. No longer was the nightmare the same as before, not of that fateful day, but of my new home ablaze, a city reduced to slag, all stemming from that dreadful red demon of a dragon. Its gaze bore down upon me after its rampage, and the next I knew, I was awake and sweating buckets back within my room. Thankfully, Tohru had left my side by this time, but even after a cold shower and nothing out of the ordinary happening since, it just felt off.
F/N: Do you have any idea what that was about?
I thought while staring out the window, the sky a dull grey as clouds blackened the horizon, though as it had become accustomed through the passing months, a response echoed from within.
Nergigante: No, you know as much as I do, there is no magic around that isn't accounted for. That fortune is most likely to blame.
The inner dragon stated as I hummed. However, the tone in which it spoke was almost hopeful, but before I could press on, a hand gently grabbed my shoulder and shook me from my thoughts.
F/N: Hm? Oh, thank you Tohru.
I said, flashing my girlfriend a soft smile while taking the tea from her hands. Tohru smiled back before settling down on the opposing side; my sister sitting beside me, gave a worried glance as she drank her tea.
Kobayashi: You ok, F/N?
F/N: Yeah, I'm good. Why do you ask?
I replied, taking a sip of my tea as she set hers down.
Kobayashi: I don't know. You seem a bit distant today, something on your mind?
F/N: Sorta, I guess; I just had a weird dream, that's all.
I replied after a long pause though I tried my best to push aside my feelings as I looked at my girlfriend.
F/N: By the way, this tea is fantastic, love.
Tohru: Well, I would hope so, I've tried to balance the heat and flavor with how you're feeling, just a little trick I've tried to get down.
She said with a soft blush, my sister smiling a bit more as she took another sip.
Kobayashi: Well, you dragons certainly are amazing.
Tohru: Hey! It's not a dragon thing; it's a me thing.
She said with a slight whine. Chuckling, I got up and patted her head as she looked up.
F/N: We know and it's something we love about you.
I said as Tohru brightened up a little.
Tohru: I know; I just wanted you to come here.
Tohru replied with a tiny grin as she hugged my waist, making me snort as she nuzzled into my belly. My sister rolled her eyes and sat back in her seat, watching as the dragon eventually stopped and got up.
Tohru: Though, as much as I'd love to cuddle some more, I should go to the store and get stuff for dinner.
F/N: Alright, we'll see you soon then.
I said, giving her a quick hug before she got ready to leave, for I returned to my seat as the door closed behind the dragon. But, as time passed, I could feel my sister's eyes fixed upon me. Trying to ignore it, I set my gaze out the window again, but the feeling didn't go away.
F/N: ...You got something you want to ask, sis?
Kobayashi: I have, though I wanted Tohru gone before I popped it.
