Good God, guys, I think this is close to the end! Please don't hate me! Maybe I'll do a sequel, if you guys are into it. I felt this one was in danger because I hadn't plotted much and that usually causes problems. What do you all think? Xoxo --

"How do you think this is going to play out?" Clay asked the Russians as Chibs, Happy and Rory made their way out in Viktor's BMW. "Daddy is pissed, Vik."

None of it made sense and if they hadn't seen it, none of the members would have believed it. Tig kept his blade tight to Putlova Jr's throat to keep the other Russians from making any heroic moves.

"It was an attempted coup." Putlova Sr suggested as he and three men sauntered into the building. "A shitty one."

"Dad," he started but didn't continue as his father glared at him.

"All the arrangements we had this little brat undercut and started to take over not to mention he ruined my deals with a few locals parties."

"Sir," one of the Russian lackeys called out. "I'm sorry. I've always been loyal."

Putlova Sr shrugged and pulled his pistol, firing one shit and hitting the man in the head. "Except this time." Turning to Clay, Viktor offered his hand. "Is your man okay?"

"He'll live."

"I'm sorry for this. I guess blood doesn't always guarantee loyalty."

"It's a lesson usually learned the hard way." Clay said somberly. "I trust you'll handle this?"

"I will but how did this happen?"

"Turns out one of those locals hired someone to look into your kid, it all led back here. She was, forceful, is that a problem?"

Putlova looked over his son and shook his head. "Wasn't forceful enough. I apologize. I'll send something by as a peace offering."

Clay grinned, knowing it was either liquor or firearms. "We'll let you work out the family shit." They shook hands again and Clay, followed by his club, left the building feeling much lighter.

"Here poppet," Chibs handed Rory a paper cup of coffee. "You give the nurse your story?"

"Yep, just waiting for the rude uniforms to flood the place, after my stabbing and Happy's history I'm sure it'll be a shit show."

"Aye." He raised his coffee and they mockingly toasted. "Hale will be up your arse. He's had a hard on for the club since he join was the force."

"Great. I just need to get in there before he comes around." She pointed to the door where they had taken Happy back for treatment. "Think he was with it enough to remember what Clay said?"

Chibs shrugged. "Don't know but Happy is a solider through and through, he'll be fine without the cover."

"Hey," Tara poked her head around the corner and waved to Chibs. "He's fine." She said as they came her way. "Only two of his fingers were actually broken, the others just have nasty sprains and bruising. That and the knife wounds are really the worst of it. Whatever needed stitching was done but it was minimal, nothing was too deep. His ribs are bruised, kidneys too but other than that he's Happy."

"Thank you, dear." Chibs said with a peck on her cheek.

"Is everyone else okay?" She asked, her eyes darting around the hall. "Did the exchange happen peacefully?"

"Aye. It's all fine and settled. You meet Rory?" Chibs asked before she wanted details he didn't have.

"I have not," she smiled at the blonde. "The Bounty Hunter, I wasn't sure these guys knew your name. It's nice to meet you."

"You too. Thank you for helping him," Rory said with sincerity. "Can I see him?"

Tara nodded and led them away. When Rory entered the room Happy bared his teeth and growled, proudly showing off the two hollow spaces from his two missing bottom teeth. She smiled, although her eyes were filled with tears. "This one saved your ass," Chibs said as he gave Happy a surprisingly gentle hug.

"I woulda gotten out. They were pussies anyway."

"Aye, I'm sure of it." Chibs glanced out toward the hall. "I'm going to check in, you two get straight for Hale."

Chibs stepped out and Rory took his spot beside Happy's bed. "I was so scared."

With his good hand, Happy cupped her cheek and led her lips to his. The kiss tasted faintly of blood but it wasn't the first time. Rory leaned her forehead against his as their lips separated. She opened her mouth to speak again when the door opened behind her and Hale strutted in.

"Adorable." He said with heavy sarcasm. "Couple survives mugging. I can already see the headline."

"Is being a snarky asshole part of the job description?" Rory spat. "I was just attacked, Happy took a nasty beating for me, we don't really need this." It was her way of sharing the few details she could before they were questioned.

"Feisty." Hale said, pulling his notepad from his pocket. "Is that the story then? Where was the attack?"

"Bar in Oakland." Happy said quickly.

"You wore that to a bar in Oakland?" He asked, looking Rory's slinky black dress up and down.

"Because I wanted to look good for him I deserved to be jumped?" Rory asked, hoping to throw him off even slightly. "Victim blaming is really a sick trend."

"Well, Oakland PD will have to take over this case." When Hale said Happy nodded, that was the exact reason he said Oakland. That and the fact he knew of at least three people with the connections to make that investigation disappear. "Be prepared for this kind of thing to happen again, ma'am. It's a dangerous group your mixing with."

Rory pulled a face as he excused himself from the room. "Shit, he's such a dick."

"What did you do, Rory?"

"What?" She looked confused by the question. "Oh, oh, yeah. How I found you, you mean?" Happy stared at her quietly. "Okay. My job, the Vivica job, it involved Putlova Jr. He hit on me, asked me out and I decided since he already saw me it was safer to not go stalking later. Before we met for dinner I found out you were missing and he was involved so I kind of pulled my gun on him in the car."

Happy pursed his lips, even with those few details he was furious. "That was stupid."

"But I got you back." She said defensively. "I know it was dangerous but the date wasn't part of the plan and when I found your ring all fucked up, I couldn't just let the damn club find you. You're my guy, Hap and I love you." She sighed heavily and shook her head. "I'm sorry I know you're not into that shit but it's why I did it."

"I'm into you." He remarked. "If anything happened because you were trying to save me-"

"You'd what?" She asked, squeezing herself into the edge of the bed. "You're not the only one who gets to put themselves it danger for the other. I handled it, I'm fine and you're back, most importantly you're whole." Rory kissed him sweetly as if to punctuate her point.

"I love you too." He grumbled into her mouth before kissing her again.
