Medford, Oregon

Isaac was all alone, on a rainy night. His parents were not around. The rain was pattering on the windowsill. It was a gentle, soothing rain. Issac was having a hard time, falling asleep. He expected the rain to lull him to sleep, but failed.

Then, all of a sudden, Isaac heard the sound of a car door slam shut. He jolted out of bed, and looked out his window. An unknown person dressed in black was about to enter the house. "Oh no, a burglar!" he whispered. "Is the door locked?"

He slowly crept downstairs to make sure it was. But, with the burglar fast approaching, he didn't bother to go any further. The doorknob started to move. Isaac felt pale as a ghost. His body started to shake as the door slowly opened.

The alarm suddenly went off, and the burglar got scared off, and went back into his van, and drove away. Issac felt so relieved. "Phew!" he sighed. "Being a 12 year old boy, alone at home, is no picnic! Well, I gotta be the man of the house! I'll be 13 in three months. Isaac went downstairs to lock the door, and went back to bed. The rain finally lulled him to sleep.
