Conner's POV

I was sitting in my office when james came in with a bewildered look on his, as if he was trying to figure something out. "Hey James, why the long face?" I asked.

"Do you give the hot chick in the sables permission to look at the horses?" he asked.

"Cora? Yes," I replied.

"Is she one of armageddon's buyers?"

"No, she's my daughter and I would appreciate you not calling her hot chick," I said sternly, than realized what horse he was talking about, "What happened? She didn't get too close to him, did she?"

"Yes and no, it was actually the other way around. He walked up to her," he said admirably.

"What? And what did he do? I swear if he hurt..."

"No, No!" he exclaimed, "he walked right up to her, and let her pet him like he was a god damn puppy, I started talking and I must have scared her and she jumped towards him, that horse switched personalities so fast I almost got whiplash, baring his teeth at me, as if protecting cora."

I must have looked comical, but come on he has to be talking about a different horse. The Armageddon I know bit people, pulled them over fences, kicked out at everyone, threw all of my best jockeys and trainers, and fought you every step of the way, even when running.

"I know boss, unbelievable, but true," he said chuckling and yawned, "well I'm gonna hit the sack."

"Yeah, me too" I agreed.

We said goodnight and I headed to my room, my last thought before I fell asleep was, how can a horse change so fast?

End.....

Just kidding, IT GOES ON!

Cora's POV

I woke up to pressure on my legs, opening my eyes I see a great, black, hairy, head. I look around wondering how I got there, than memories from last night crashed in my head. Getting here, meeting my dad, meeting the horses, and falling asleep with assault. When I snap out of my memories I hear murmurs and voices. They said, "Who's she? How'd she get in with 'The Ass'? Does she want to get killed?" and so on. The voices seem to get louder as more shuffling issued, "What the hell?" was a familiar hushed voice, "cora? How the hell did you get in there?"

I kept my eyes closed; I was hoping to make them believe I was still asleep. Seems it worked, they kept on trying to figure out a way to get me out without disturbing me or assault. I cracked my eyes open, not enough for them to notice but enough for me to see. Their backs were to me and there were four; my dad, james , jeff, and a teenage boy. All's I could see of the boy was his muscled back, 5'11 height, and sandy blond hair. "I think we should take this outside, 'the Ass' may not be a nice horse but he sure is smart, and a light sleeper," my father, the ever voice of reason. (Sarcasm)

When they all left I woke up assault, "listen I need you to trust me for 20 minutes, okay?" I whispered. He seemed relaxed so I did the stupidest thing apparently anyone on this farm ever did; I got on him. At first he tensed and then when he relaxed I urged him to his feet. Using my feet and knees, I guided him to the stall doors and unhooked the bolt from the door. "Okay big boy, let's go for a run," I said, pushing the door open enough for him to step out.

There were two exits, one to the house and the other to the training arena. I decided to go to the training arena, and as I clicked to assault I heard voices. "Come on boy, they're coming!" I exclaimed. There was a shout and he took off like a bat outa hell, and behind me there was running. But I didn't have time to care because when we reached the arena it was locked and I wasn't ready for a yell fest I quickly changed directions, heading to the race track.

We made it there fair enough but half way we gained pursuers; my dad, on a gray gelding, the teen, on a dun mare, and jeff, on a white mare. They chased until we hit the fence, now I was expecting assault to hit it, stop dead, or go around. What he did astounded me for his age, he jumped it. A 56" fence and that two year old horse jumped it, WOW!

Now I have a confession to make...

I'm an ARENALINE ADDICT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah its strange, but hey I get a kick out of it

Oh and I'm changing the setting a bit. Instead of having the farm in Kentucky the farm is going to a place closer to the mountains, and wild horses. Not giving anything away but it's for future troubles for cora, and a special friend of hers, who may or may not be in the next chapter.
