It was happening to him every night, the same crippling fear floating in his heart, the same blood-curdling screams freezing him to the core, and endless flows of adrenaline rushing into his veins like a beast. He could feel his forehead sweating crazily and all muscles of his body were stiffened terribly as he kept fighting with someone. He couldn't even see the person since his vision was blurry as if the endless twilight was plastered over his determined eyes. It was always happening like that, his hands gripping the gun tightly and trying to snatch it from the other's hold but an awful sound of a gunshot was always causing him to root to his place and halt his moves. He had never had any time to get scared as the bullet was piercing through his heart, causing everything to go blank before he could shoot his terrorized eyes open with a loud gasp and sit up in his bed at the speed of light. And then he would sit there for minutes, doing nothing but staring aimlessly in the space as he tried to come to his mind and calm himself down, repeating in his head that it was just a dream.

This was how it always used to end, with the strong light of the sun staring straight at his orbs, making him cover his eyes with his arm to protect them from the intense pain. Beomgyu never knew why he was seeing the same nightmare almost every night, but it wasn't like there was anyone who would answer this question. His days were nothing different from one other. Every day he had to wake up in the morning and deal with the hardships of his life. He always used to feel like his existence was just a waste of space because he was no one, his life had no purpose.

His future seemed to have faded away with the existence of his dear father years ago, stuck in the remains of his past and no one knew how much pain he carried with his scarred heart every day because of this sudden tragedy. Beomgyu was only 6 years old back then. And what was the most painful for him was the fact that the vision of his father's face kept getting more and more blurry as the time passed by and now he didn't remember him at all. He could still recall how warm his hands were when they used to hold the child gently against his chest. They felt magical caressing him affectionately when San was singing lullabies to him with his soothing voice at nights, and Beomgyu missed very much how peacefully he used to go to sleep with his father, his only parent next to him. He would always look at the boy like he was the biggest treasure, the only thing he had ever adored in his life and Beomgyu never felt more protected and loved than when he was with him. He remembered everything about him, his kind heart, his love, his warmth, and care but the only thing he could recall about his appearance was that...

          He was beautiful.

It happened on May 15, 2009. San had been having incurable leukaemia from a young age and Beomgyu remembered how weak it was making him every day. His youth was disappearing in the infinite fog of the past. He had not many years left ahead of him, but whatever happened that night, seemed to have shortened his life in just minutes and Beomgyu always hated those two people who visited them that day and dragged his father outside in the dark. Beomgyu couldn't see their faces from the second floor when he was standing at the window of his room, but he could notice that they were arguing about something for some reason. Then he found San crying on the floor after those strangers left. He looked devastated and desperate. His eyes were even more bloodshot now than usual. Blood had drained completely from his face and he was looking like a complete ghost with dark circles around his eyes which were caused by his incurable disease.

"Appa?", Beomgyu called in a concerned voice after watching his dear father crying nonstop for a minute or two and his red-rimmed eyes were immediately shot at him. They started sparkling with desperate hope as soon as he caught sight of the little boy.

"Gyu", he called in a crying voice and got on his feet to barely stumble to the kid, leaning against the objects on his way to him to keep his balance, "Baby", he called in a cracked voice as he couldn't stop sobbing and kneeled in front of the child, placing his face between his warm, soft palms and patting the boy softly on his cheekbone, "I need you to promise something to me, okay?", he asked as he wiped his tears hurriedly to look at the child into his eyes and find his sincerity in them after Beomgyu nodded his head, "Please...", the older pleaded in despair and even though he was trying to hold himself back, his voice still kept cracking and fresh tears of agony started flowing down his face, "Never, never fall in love. Please, baby. I beg you"
