Like a shy butterfly
who was once too afraid
to spread her wings. When they once felt heavy,
when the waves of her heart
clashed into a million of broken
and scattered pieces. When her jagged seams seemed too
hard to stitch back
and fix
together.She is becoming whole.
She is becoming
who she always was
painted on the inside
and
destined to be.A/N: This poem that I wrote earlier this year is a very special one, one that I resonate deeply with. For a long time, I gave love to the wrong people and things and felt like I had to act like another person for the sake of pleasing others. I realised how futile that was and had to let go. In the poem, I utilise the butterfly as symbolic of my own personal journey, shedding off the layers of past hurt, but also as a way to communicate the beautiful woman I'm truly believe I'm becoming and destined to be. I don't know what woman-hood is going to bring to me, but it sure is going to be a huge ride. :) 🦋
