ARE YOU IN LOVE WITH ME?

At times you disappoint me heavily
leaving a sharp stab in my heart.
An open wound and atrophic scar,
with a tingle of regret and doubt,
and at times I disappoint myself,
for creating an incredibly false perception of you.

Yet expecting you to fulfil the jar of my expectations,
only to look down and see it,
open, crooked and empty.
Filled with the gritty dust,
of your disregard.

What a fool of me!
to think that I was the only,
lilac,
blossoming and flourishing
in midst of your ashy garden.

Like the moon,
There are times and phases when I'm in love with you,
however, I realise that ultimately we would never be a perfect match.

I truly wonder, if you ever wanted something sincere,
something genuine,
or was I just someone to converse with
when you were lonely?

You never quite answered my question,
by the way.

"Are you in love with me?"
