"You didn't fill in a single question." Eraserhead said. 'Thanks captain obvious' Kyo thought as he crossed his legs.

"Would it kill you to cooperate with us for a day? Eventually you'll be sent to a group home where you can settle in but until then you should enjoy the opportunity to learn at U.A." The underground hero said as he put the unanswered forms down on his desk. Kyo sighed and rolled his eyes.

The black haired teen was entirely uninterested and stressed so he wasn't going to entertain Eraserhead's stupid ideas. "I'm not staying here." He said simply "No way in hell am I becoming a member of a society that treated me like that.".

It wasn't that Aizawa didn't understand the pull the League of Villains might have. They had helped him when he was in a horrible, dangerous situation. It was obvious that below the surface of 'I just hate heroes' there was some sort of emotional bond tying Kyo to the league. Although the reason the teen was with Aizawa right now anyways was because of the name 'Kyo'.

The blood test they took while 'Kyo' was held in police custody had come back with a match.

Arai Yuuto went missing at age 3, two weeks before his 4th birthday. His parents had both died in the fire set during the attack and several details had led them to believe Yuuto had died as well. Namely the fact they found three of his severed toes in the ashes of the family home in Kyoto. This, of course, lined up with the current 'Kyo' who had only 3 toes on one foot and 4 on the other.

Speaking of death, two men in police custody had been burned to death yesterday. Of course they were the two most heavily involved in the quirk trafficking and brothel running and of course they knew the league was behind this. To the underground hero it sent a strong message, 'give him back'.

They were rubbing it in the faces of all the heroes involved that they could do more for 'Kyo' than the legal system could.

But back to Eraserhead actually talking to 'Kyo'.

"We did find your real name." Aizawa stated simply, placing the documents in from of the teen for him to read over. Kyo himself internally rolled his eyes. As if he could read which part of the page had his real name on it.

Did he even really care about his name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, right? Nothing would change even if he had a whole ass family waiting for him. "Does the name Arai Yuuto ring a bell?" Eraserhead asked, not picking up on the boy's lack of reading ability. Kyo flinched and shook his head.

"Why the fuck does it matter what my name was?!" He challenged "It doesn't mean shit.". Kyo didn't like this. He didn't like the calm manor Eraserhead was talking to him in. Adults never spoke to him like that. He liked the interrogation better than this. He didn't like the fact the hero was so happy to show him the name that came with a life that was stolen from him.

But most of all he hated the name. The sound of Yuuto made him want to vomit. Not because it was a bad name, but because it had been one of the names his owners gave to clients. They called him by all sorts of names while he was working but Yuuto was the most popular.

They had used his real name. This whole time when he tried to distance himself from the clients and perverts by thinking they were calling out for someone else they had been using his real name. They knew. They knew it was his real name and they still used it.

Aizawa was shocked at the sight and his heart warmed at the thought that maybe the boy had remembered something from before his capture. Maybe he remembered his parents or another relative. "Its okay to get emotional." He said in a calming voice that only made Kyo want to lash out more. "You might not feel like Arai Yuuto right now but eventually rationality gets to all of us.".

And Kyo lost it again. It seemed he couldn't be in the same room with the hero for more than 10 minutes without it ending up this way.

"That's not my name!" He shouted, glaring "Don't say it ever again!". For once that day he was glad he couldn't read so he would never be reminded of the characters that composed that disgusting name.

If Aizawa had learned anything from the last outburst it was that he would need to back off to prevent another breakdown and subsequently another wedge between Kyo and the heroes. "Alright then, I won't. Your class is aware we know your name but none of them know. You don't have to tell them if you don't want to.".

"You can read the rest of them." The erasure hero said, sliding a box of tissues across the desk. "Its all about your family. I will warn you there are some gruesome details about your capture in there.". Kyo smirked. He calming down and his usual sass was back.

"Bold of you to assume I can read.".

The words had left his mouth before he had even thought about it. Kyo looked up with wide eyes and his own met Aizawa's. Both were equally shocked at what he had said.

"You can't read?" Aizawa clarified. It was at that exact moment that Nezu walked into the teaching office. It was obvious to both of them he had heard everything.

Suddenly everything from that morning made sense. The students had reported Kyo staring at things in the kitchen for a long time, trying to make sense of them. He had paid so much attention in math yet in classical japanese he barely looked at the board, only at Aizawa. And he hadn't signed the forms because he didn't know how to write, not because he was being a brat like the staff had thought. While he processed the information he noticed that Kyo was gone.

Shit.

---- ----- ----- ----- ---- ----- ----- -----

The door to the league of villain's new hideout slammed open with a loud crash. All eyes turned to see who it was to be met with the sight of a mud and rain covered Kyo. He was wearing a U.A uniform with the blazer tied around his waist and the tie nowhere to be seen.

He looked up at all of them through dripping wet bangs "Shigaraki, teach me how to read.".

How did he even get out? You'll know in due time.

Here I am again, updating Newbie when I haven't even started Shatter's new chapter yet. Priorities, priorities.

You may also be wondering why none of the league members asked about the missing toes. Surely they had to have seen him barefoot at some point, right? To explain they don't really ask questions, they didn't ask Dabi shit about the burns after a little while so in comparison toes seemed kinda minor. His quirk can't bring body parts back if they've been completely severed and he can't use it on himself anyways so unfortunately there is no hope for Kyo's toes. Ha, that one rhymes.

On the bright side another reason why he's so good with math is because he learned in both base 10 and base 7 from an early age.
